Didn't want to break the Keenan record.

pure.life 03-31-2016 09:12 PM

but..

I think Mccann has a higher ceiling then Virtanen, Virtanen has been able to show more this season because of his size right out of junior where Mccann needs to put on 10-15lbs.

..Flame on

I don't think that's far-fetched at all, simply cause Virtanen can't seem to make a good play most nights and when he does the opposing D easily reads it

I'd say McCann has a higher ceiling because he's so much more skilled but Virtanen has much better chance of making an impact in the NHL cause of his size

trancehead 04-01-2016 12:36 AM

Was the game today

Tryamkin is noticeable huge. and also slow haha. he got rubbed into the boards on one play by a person half his size though-- i had to laugh

Horvat showed good skill today. Good pair of hands on his goal

Thornton is still an elite player. it was difficult for anyone to take the puck away from him. and of course, they cant knock him down because of his sheer size. he was controlling the puck all night. probably had the highest puck possession time of anyone on the ice

AzNightmare 04-01-2016 12:46 AM

morons... just when we were on the brink of being driver seat on this tank.
Hansen goes and fuck shit up.

Ch28 04-01-2016 05:13 AM

Should've traded Hansen at the deadline

highfive 04-01-2016 01:38 PM

A lot of Duck's regulars are out today.

Still, if we lose the last two games against EDM, we are good!

6o4__boi 04-01-2016 01:47 PM

fuck, we might actually win these games against playoff teams because they really don't give a shit and would rather not get injured

the Sharks yesterday played it like an exhibition game

Dim Jim told the media a couple of days ago that he hates to see the team losing so many games this season.

GM Jim Benning can't stomach Canucks losing season - Sportsnet.ca

Boo hoo! Cry me a river. Someone tell this guy to learn how to make better trades as a GM, learn how to use the waiver process properly so that you don't lose players like Corrado, and other duties as a GM.

This guy doesn't have the guts, the cohones, to walk into the dressing room and tell Willie and the players to tank the five remaining games.

This may sound unconventional, but heck, if I was GM for a day I would send a clear message to the team about the blueprint this franchise needs to do a proper rebuild.

-My speech to the players and the coaching staff in the locker room: "Guys, you played a heck of a game in the Shark Tank. Way to go. What I am about to say to you is part of my vision for rebuilding this team. I want you guys to tank the remaining five games of this season. We need to lose these games, especially those two games against Edmonton. Why the tank job? It's simple. We are rebuilding this team to be a competitive, championship contender through the draft. It's a deep draft year as you may know. We have a great chance to get a top 3 draft pick IF we lose all our remaining games this season.

I need your help in order to make this vision for this team's future to happen. Yes, I understand that these words are hard to swallow. You have been through a rough season. As professional athletes, it is not in your DNA to lose games on purpose. It's about being professional and working hard every day to play hard to try to win every game.

However, I ask you to help me build this team through my vision of drafting elite players for rebuilding the Canucks into contenders. We win for this team by losing these 5 games.

Guys, please tank and lose these last 5 games! Fuck Toronto! Fuck Edmonton! They are not getting any more first overall picks in the draft. We are all Canucks! Let's tank as Canucks to try to get that first overall pick!
We lose to win!"

Sorry but that's just dumb. You want to tank properly? Sign some scrub beer league goalie and start him for the remainder of the season. You're not going to get a room full of millionaires to "tank for the team" when their salary is based purely on performance and some don't even know if they'll return next year.

What's even dumber is the team trying to win these meaningless five games.

You honestly think Dim Jim would sign a beer league goalie to tank the team??? That would never happen.

Fuck that. This dude is all about signing the veteran goalie. :troll:

The way that some of these multi millionaire athletes are playing this season, I highly doubt that they can pad their stats in these last five games. We're talking about a team with one of the worst offences in the league. This team got shut out in three straight games recently. :lawl:

highfive 04-01-2016 02:31 PM

Fun fact: Edmonton was 3rd worst team and they won the lottery last year. Maybe finishing behind Toronto and Edm has its perks.

Edmonton is like that fucking parasite that somehow manages to get your blood no matter how many times you think you've parasite-proofed yourself

if any urgent rule changes need to made this summer, its to make sure Edmonton doesn't get top 3 or even top 5 picks for at least 5 years regardless of where in the bottom they finish

there's gotta be an "are you fucking kidding me" clause...you can't draft that high for so long and show absolutely no improvement

Blackhawks' Keith suspended six games for high stick - Article - TSN

6 for Keith. Rest of regular season + 1 playoff. Kind of a joke TBH

spoon.ek9 04-01-2016 04:53 PM

repeat offender how many times now? they gave him the bare minimum. what a joke.

6o4__boi 04-01-2016 04:56 PM

Hhahaha...of course he'd get the superstar treatment.

:rukidding:

players aren't stupid. just because they're not the GM doesn't mean they don't understand how team management works. they don't need someone to tell them that.

yes, players want to win a cup, but more than that they need a job. playing well is the only way for them to secure future contracts and money. on top of that, why would they want to increase the odds of the team drafting a talented kid who'll take one of their roster spots or minutes?

spoon.ek9 04-01-2016 06:11 PM

wooo 0-1, first minute of the game :D
