Acquilini is never gonna sell this team he's making bucket loads as a developer in the current real estate climate, the Canucks are small potatoes to him and it's way too cool to own your own sports team his ego is massive he won't give that up

Of the top 3 defensive prospects in this year's draft, are any of them NHL-ready?

68style 04-05-2016 10:24 AM

They better not pick Chychrun, that guy's got bust written all over him. Juolevi is looking like a safer bet maybe??

Liquid_o2 04-05-2016 11:05 AM

Chychrun could end up being the next Griffin Reinhart. Top rated defensive prospect picked 4th overall just because he was a "top rated prospect". I remember before the 2012 draft, I was speaking to some guys from the Oilers organization and they kept saying that he was slow and didn't have NHL level footspeed. Low and behold, many d-men picked after him have turned into better bets. Funny how the Oilers ended up with him in the end.

I hope Benning doesn't pick a prospect just because he is rated highly by Central Scouting. Gotta look beyond that.

Srs question..has there ever been a player with a weird/hard to pronounce name that has ever become a star? Let alone a top 6 player? Lol honestly

Like in past years we have drafted players with weird names and right of he bat I'll write them off

I honestly have no idea what benning is going to do this draft....even last draft most people were like who the fuck is this boeser kid? So far so good thing is with JB that fucker can draft...so i guess we just have to trust his draft judgement but still worried wiesbrod will be in his ear to fuck things up!

If Dim Jim listens to Wiesbrod and decides to make a change in his draft decision, we might see JB's shocked face again. That deer in the headlights look of thinking he gets to draft a sleeper pick :troll:

Isn't it possible for the Canucks to end the season on a winning note AND win the lottery with 1st overall pick? lol

A fan can dream right?

I thought highest you could jump is 4 spots up or down?

No, that's from years ago (I believe New Jersey was the last, moving up from 8th to 4th to draft Larsson; don't have time to double-check that).

Then it changed to whoever (Edmonton) wins the lottery drafts 1st overall.

Starting this draft, there are 3 lotteries for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall picks, meaning a team could move down as far as 3 positions.

So, if we win out and get some bad luck on the out-of-town scoreboard, we would finish 22nd, meaning we could draft 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th.

30th place has the best odds in the lottery, 17th has the worst odds.

I see..........

I'm angry right now.. Watch this turn into another Neely...

Jmac 04-05-2016 08:07 PM

With the Sabres win tonight, the best we can finish is 23rd, so worst case scenario is now 11th overall.

Too bad Montreal and Arizona lost; could've bumped that up to 9th.

Best case scenario, we finish 28th, which would be 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, or 6th.

murd0c 04-05-2016 08:41 PM

so happy Winnipeg won tonight

You're welcome Calgary :okay: his two goals have been hard-working instinct based goals. Exactly what the canucks didn't need
