Playnow is offering 24x payout for team NA to win, before the roster announcments it was even higher at 28x. It might be a bit of a long shot but they are going to have a good team. McDavid and Eichel as the 1 and 2 C are as good if not better than any team in that tournament IMO. Ekblad / Jones is a pretty solid 1st pairing as well, goalie situation with Murray or Gibson isn't bad either.
I put $10 on them to win at 28x payout, makes it a little more interesting on top of what should be a fun team to watch already.

I'm most looking forward to seeing Team NA play, Eichel and McDavid on the same team will be extremely entertaining.

Questions for u boys...with oilers picking 4th are the chances of them picking tkachuk high or they more heavy on picking Dubois? If oilers pick Dubois do u think Canucks will pick tkachuk or will they trade down and try to recoup another first round pick and a 2nd? I have honestly no idea what JB could do in the 5th postion. If Dubois is available in hoping they go for him but if not I have no clue what they would do....

Dubois should be available pending some unexpected moves.

Oilers are pretty much set at C so they don't really "need" Dubois.
Tkachuk would make a great fit on LW with McDavid or Oilers could draft a D in Juolevi.

picking dubois would allow the oilers to trade rnh for help on the back end. pld can play wing or center, hes taller and weighs more than tkachuk and is apparently a gym rat similar to that of brindamour.
if juolevi goes in the top 5 a fan base needs to castrate their gm
tkachuk is not a guaranteed 4

Tkachuk at least got two goal's in the memorial cup final yesterday including the OT winner, I really hope that will want a team to pick him over Dubios but even if it doesn't Tkachuk was looking like a stud yesterday.

I'd rather have tkachuk over Dubois personally. Feel like the NHL family pedigree is more of a sure thing than taking a flyer on a good CHLer

Two things that make me nervous about Dubois:
- He wasn't on scouts top 10 lists to start the season, he really rose the ranks towards the end. Did he get hot and is now overvalued? Is he actually worth a top 5 pick? Or is he a 5 to 15 pick?
- From what I have always read, QMJHL stats are typically inflated because it is a higher scoring league than OHL and WHL. If he played in the OHL, how would he have fared?
I feel that Tkachuk is a safer bet. He is going to be a great power forward. But I do think that Edmonton will be picking him at 4, so it may be a moot point.

damn...i remember Keith Tkachuk had fitness issues but did he ever let himself go after retirement
i have the exact same concerns with Dubois
but then again, I don't watch that much Junior hockey esp the Q to really get a gauge on
Would be curious to see who Dubois comparables are and if there are similar prospects in the past that rose from nowhere and how they are faring now

| Brouwer's considered signing with Canucks
http://www.thescore.com/news/1035715
(via http://thesco.re/theScore_app ) The St. Louis Blues forward - who's poised to become an unrestricted free agent July 1 - admitted Monday that he's considered the idea of joining the Canucks in an interview with News 1130 Radio in Vancouver.
"I have thought about it, for sure. Family and friends, playing for my hometown, it would be an experience for sure," said Brouwer. He added, "My dad was a huge Canucks fan, Mark Messier was a big influence in my hockey career, I watched him a lot in Vancouver."
Brouwer appears to be considering all his options - after the Blues were eliminated by the San Jose Sharks, he said he'd love to return to St. Louis. He said Monday he expects to meet with the Blues prior to July 1 and get a better idea regarding his future.
While the 30-year-old appears intrigued by the prospect of coming home, he knows it would also depend on Canucks management.
"Definitely be a great experience to play for the hometown team and see what it's like but I don't know (what the) Canucks' plans are," said Brouwer.
Thought?

not exactly a beacon of inspiration when that bald piece of shit played for the Canucks
But in all seriousness, nah. He's gonna be commanding some interest and unless he's willing to take a home town discount, he's not worth the big bucks. I'd rather that money go towards signing a bonafide top 6 forward/winger.

I'm questioning the fact that he watched any Canucks growing up. Who honestly mentions Messier in a positive light?!

Mark Messier was a big influence on Brouwer??
The bald Moose was one of the factors that caused the dark periods in the Canucks' history back in the day!
I had to change the channel every time I saw Messier on a Lays chips commercial or that Rogers commercial about watching NHL games on a tablet, mobile device.
