He secretly wanted to improve the Leafs luck with Quinn's card.

I think it was Brian Burke that had the most typical Brian Burke response (that also made the most sense). They asked him what his lucky charm was, and he's like "none of your business" :lol

This really sucks for Linden Vey - if he sucks as a hockey player, that's one thing. But his name is being ruined thanks to the actions of his dad.

Former Canuck Bonino is gonna get a Stanley Cup ring soon. He played well in this series. :notbad:

I would be very happy with that, I just don't want him to go with the Leafs to be honest. lol

TjAlmeida 06-08-2016 09:35 PM

Interesting, figured Tampa with their success this post season without stammer they would have wanted to get picks or young prospects to avoid incoming salary use. They got a lot of young stars coming up that are going to want big pay days.

Trading rights for players with expiring contracts kind of makes sense. Okposo is nowhere near the level of player that Stamkos is, but he's also significantly cheaper, which would work well for TBL cause of all the young guys they'll need to eventually sign.

I think the writing should be on the wall when the Bolts made it this deep without their captain.

The morning looney toons claims Darren Dreger said he thinks JB may trade away the 5th overall pick for some magic beans to help the Nucks make the playoffs next season.

I think their reasoning is that the team is much stronger with a healthy Edler, Sutter, and Sedins.

DD said that 3rd-5th picks were getting offers from teams (mainly the third overall where they were getting 'aggressive offers').

He stipulated that JB didn't like being a non-playoff team and said that the Oilers and us would pull the trigger if we got better on the ice.

This is not news. Any GM in the existence of history always listens to offers on their picks. They also always want to improve what they have on ice. Let's not make something out of a nothing story.

highfive 06-09-2016 07:43 AM

Unless it's a cap dump, I don't see why teams are willing to give up good young players for older vets.

Anyone notice that the kessel pens trade is getting pretty lopsided if pens win?

Nabatron 06-09-2016 08:21 AM

I would have no idea what benning would want for the 5th overall...if he is trading 5th overall he better be getting a young player another 1st and a second thats my honest opinion. Theres noway he could afford to just trade the 5th over all pick for a vet just to make the playoffs! I would just say gg to him being a manager and I will welcome his walking papers if this shit happens....

Arizona apparently offering both their 1st round picks this draft (7 and 20) and either Domi or Christian Dvorak for Matthews

That's a steep price to pay for Matthews.

Mike Oxbig 06-09-2016 10:39 AM

Maybe the GM was fired cause he refused to offer up OEL for matthews.
