Mind you, Matthews is projected to be a #1 first line 2-way centre a la Kopitar |
They of course want the local kid, pay what they can to get him is smart for a team struggling like the Coyote's |

fuckin lelz...burnt by the CBJ :lawl: |
The Leafs have lacked a 1C since Sundin. They aren't giving up 1st overall when someone of Matthew's calibre comes along. The Kessel trade looking more and more lop-sided? The trade had to be done in order to get the rebuild going. The fact that the return was so small suggests maybe only Pens were interested in Kessel, after a season where he gave up. He was/is one of my favorite players and this run has given me an excuse to sport his jersey this post season. I didn't want to see him go, I will be happy to see him likely hoist the cup. But without that trade, the Leafs don't get Matthews. I'd still do that trade. |
Would the leafs do Reily + Matthews for OEL Strome and Dvorak?? ARI is desperate |
if youre desperate, you might get only Matthews for the other 3 :fullofwin: |
WOW that was a quick start for the Sharks!! |
and a quick start for the pen's lol |

RIP Mr. Hockey. Hockey legend Gordie Howe passes away at age 88 - Sportsnet.ca |
RIP legend :okay: |
Saw the news while at the gym earlier... :okay: RIP Legend |
RIP, one of the all time greats |
I'm beyond sad about Gordie being gone... I met him with my sister when I was a kid, sat in his lap and told him how bad I want to be in the NHL. I remember him smiling and telling me how he really hopes I make it, signed a picture saying "see you in the NHL" and I was so excited. Such a great man and he did so much for the game and for the fans over all of these years. RIP to one of the best ever. |
rough week for legends RIP Mr. Hockey |
RIP Mr. Hockey. Gordie Howe, one of the all time great players to every play in the NHL. It's a sad day for the league. :tears: |
Played in an NHL alumni Alzheimers tourney a few years ago and Gordie was there. He was shaking hands with fans and I lined up for my turn to meet the great. I was next in line when his handlers put him in the town car and away they drove. So close to meeting a real life legend. :okay: RIP |
A friend of mine's dad is a huge Gordie Howe fan and sent him a rare Gordie Howe hockey card with a letter. Never expected to see it again until a few months later it showed up in the mail signed by Gordie Howe himself with a letter written by him. Great player, even better person. RIP |
Congrats to Pits and Nick Bonino |
Pits deserved it for sure, good to see Crosby winning the Conn Smyth |
Another Holy Grail for Crosby! |
