Jason Missiaen is the same size, same age, was the #5 goalie in NYR's system last year, and was released as a UFA 2 days ago. Unlikely anyone signs him. As for a 25-year-old NCAA Division III goaltender, I hope you guys aren't serious. For those unfamiliar with NCAA Div. III, that division is for schools that don't offer athletic scholarships (partial or full) and, in general, have non-existent to extremely poor development programs and, obviously, have difficulty attracting talent. It's basically a small step above beer league hockey. |
http://new1.fjcdn.com/thumbnails/com...2dada7b5ef.jpg Missiaen's only 6'8" Our goalie of the future has 1" on him, brah. /notsrs |
We were all in the "let the young guns develop" boat and then JB throws a curveball and trades a 24 year old for a 31 year old grinder? I personally would have liked to see what Kass might have been able to do training together with Horvat+. Kassassin was extremely inconsistent but he was big with soft hands which can't be taught. If this turns into Cam Neely 2.0 in the next few years ... |

Hmmm, Daniel is selling his Shaughnessy home for $5.9 million. Daniel Sedin's $5.9 million Shaughnessy home for sale (PHOTOS) Vancouver Canucks player Daniel Sedin is selling his Vancouver Shaughnessy neighbourhood home, sources tell Vancity Buzz. The 4,346 square foot residence at 1233 Nanton Avenue sits on a 8,224 sq. ft. lot and is on the market for $5.898 million. The home, which was listed for sale on Monday, was completely rebuilt in 2006 and incorporates “time honoured craftsmanship.” According to realtor Matt Pozer’s listing, the two-storey wooden structure home has five bedrooms, including a master bedroom with a giant walk-in dressing room, and four bathrooms. Adjacent to the main level’s living room and dining room, there is a separate recreation room for crafts and music. More amenity space such as a media room and play room can be found in the basement. The property also includes a semi-circle driveway, triple car garage, hot tub and custom kids playground. This can be yours for the multi-million dollar price plus $15,686 in annual property taxes. |
Maybe D.Sedin wants to go for a cup while Henrik stays to help mentor our young group Since Henrik has the hart trophy ahead of Daniel on their resume |
Daniel has an MVP trophy as well; which one is more valuable depends on if you value the players' opinions or the hockey writers' opinions more. It's more likely that Daniel Sedin is simply moving as his family has grown considerably over the past several years; now with 3 school-aged children. |
Thats some nice Ikea furniture |
They are letting go of trainer Mike Burnstein as well. |

Hopefully this means Delorme is going to get his walking papers soon |

Snepsts, our western scout, probably the worst western scout in the league, should also be relieved of his duties. |
what...Why fire Burnstein lol. when in doubt, fire everyone. |

Looks like Daniel has moved already - apart from the furniture in the house, there's nothing else (e.g. empty closet). |

52.5M, 7 years for RoR @ 7.5M per 36M, 6 years for Saad @ 6M per |
massive overpayment for both players |
I wonder if these overpayments are tied to how much some of the top players are signing for. Toews/Kane getting 10.5 so a player like Saad getting 60% of what they make might seem reasonable in an agents eyes. A lot of money for those two.... |
Sabres and Blue Jackets are going to be very good teams within the next couple of years. |
O'Reilly's contract is structured pretty unique, annual salary of only 1mil each year, gets everything else as a signing bonus. I was hoping for a 6 to 6.5ish cap hit, but I can live with this, guess this is the new numbers in a post cap-circumventing/10+ year contract world where top 1st line guys will be making $10.5 cap hits (Toews/Kane). I'm looking forward to the next few years as a Sabres fan, that center depth of O'Reilly, Eichel, Reinhart, Grigensons, Larsson, I'm sure a couple of them will move to wing though. Will be an interesting/fun mix in the top 6 between Eichel, Kane, O'Reilly, Reinhart, Grigenson, Ennis and Moulson. Canucks being my second team, I really hope they do decide to go tear it full down to the ground soon and do a full rebuild. |
