I doubt it, but pretty darn tempted on making that playnow bet with 4.1 odds for Marky.
Thoughts on whose winning the calder? I think Ekband. | I'm thinking Ekblad but it wouldn't shock me if Stone gets it.

I hope Ekblad wins. Youngest of the three. Even though they're all "rookies", Johnny and Stone have 3+ years of overall hockey experience over Ekblad. Ekblad was literally straight out of highschool into the big leagues. Haha

I don't have any emotional tie to Lack, but I would only him to stay strictly for the cap reason.

I don't think any goalies will be cracking the 1st round, anyways.
I'm hoping a good right-handed defenseman

It all depends what happens in the draft and what's left on the table. Look how Mccan dropped last year that we were able to pick him up.

BPA is the way to go.
I would be happy if we find another good centre like McCann or Cassels.
Chicago taught us something and that is you can never have enough centres.
Toews, Saad, Richards, Vermette, Kruger, Teravainen. Lots of natural centres.

Centres or big bodies.
true our d cupboard is pretty bare but imo, centres are needed more than d at the moment.

Easy to just focus on the tangible assets from a trade, but in this salary cap environment, cap space is almost if not more important than the actual players. Sure you can look at Garrison being given away for Vey, but also remember the cap space that move freed up. Plus remember that were it not for the olympics, there was a good chance Luongo would not have even reported to Canucks training camp in 2014; and how pouty he got when he was snubbed from the Heritage Classic after returning from those same Olympics. I'm a big Luongo supporter, but his time here was done one way or other and the fact we got anything back for him at all given the restrictive circumstances is good enough for me. Quote:

I think unofficially he announced it prior to winning the cup even | Except, in the case of Garrison, we never used that cap space this year (roughly $3M cap space most of the season) and we ended up giving almost all of Garrison's cap hit to a substantially worse dman in Sbisa for next year and into the future.
And, given that Benning had said all year that he wasn't going to pick up rentals at the deadline, it's not like there was a plan in place to use that cap space to pick up a highly-paid rental.
As for Luongo, he should've been dealt years ago, once it was known he no longer wished to be here. Dealing Schneider was a terrible choice (again, choosing the guy that doesn't want to be here rather than the one who does), but Horvat is softening that blow.
