the only thing going on for the canucks fans to cheer for is horvat and lack.... wouldnt mind a 31st pick since benning is true scout

Hondaracer 06-24-2015 08:23 PM

If we trade lack for the 35th pick overall from the sabers I'd almost still consider that
A failure based on Lack's potential.

RiceIntegraRS 06-24-2015 08:59 PM

^I totally agree. When was the last time we ever picked someone out of the 2nd Round that has had any impact on this team?............. 10 yrs ago and that would be Mason Raymond go back 22 yrs and there was Mike Peca.

Mike Oxbig 06-24-2015 09:30 PM

nothing to look forward to next season

Nabatron 06-24-2015 10:15 PM

The only think I'm looking forward to is the potential of prospects being injected into the line up! Also seeing if virtanen can possibly make the squad too!

Obsideon 06-24-2015 11:18 PM

I don't mind what JB is doing.
At least Miller is not signed to some 12-year contract? He was FREE, we gave up absolutely nothing to acquire him. I feel that Miller is pretty much a 3-year stopgap that Aquaman wanted to veil the "fans" into thinking we have a competitive squad so he still has ticket holders. Would you pay to watch an all-out tank team like Buffalo?

You'd have to be severely delusional to think our current roster has even half an ass crack at competing with Chicago/Anaheim. We are stuck in limbo right now with an aging core and unproven rookies. Lack is smack dab in the middle. He is not ready now, and by the time he hits his potential prime and wants a big contract, the rest of the vets will be too old to matter. He also has by far the best trade value. We couldn't pay someone to take Miller now and Markstrom hasn't shown enough to other GMs to garner anything significant.

xeryusx 06-25-2015 02:26 AM

Lol pasta, that petition post made me giggle.

Let's also lock up Bieksa long term because he's a good fighter, chirper and made the conference winning goal back in 2011 playoffs. Plus, as a bonus, he bought a translator for Burrows.

604 I agree with you 100%. Hopefully BoHo is placed in positions where he can start to flourish offensively.

As for the Miller signing, that was a total business move. He's a proven veteran goalie who has earned that money. If he can steal games for the team, awesome. If not, he'll at least generate talk within the fan base. Really, what's 6M to the owners?

Carey Price hauls in a quadruplets of trophies at the NHL Awards.

Hart, Vezina, Ted Lindsey Award, and William Jennings (best GAA) award

-happy to have Price in my keeper league, hockey pool as my no. 1 goalie for many years.
:smug:

The Montreal Canadiens star captured the Hart Trophy as the most valuable player, Vezina Trophy as the best goaltender and Ted Lindsay Award as the most outstanding player as voted by his peers. Price became the first goaltender since Dominik Hasek in 1998 to win all three.

Counting the William H. Jennings Trophy for the best goals-against average, Price is the first goalie in NHL history to sweep all four awards.

if Milan Lucic could be had for a reasonable deal...would you guys want him?

murd0c 06-25-2015 11:03 AM

plain and simple YES, he's big and tough which we have been needing in a forward for years. The only issue is him being hot headed and taking dumb penalties which is the only reason why I wouldn't want him here.

Hondaracer 06-25-2015 11:12 AM

The guy is a fucking slug..hell no

Like not even with the hate on for him being a bruin, the guy is not a good player, his olay has fallen off lately and coming to the west he's going to be even more ineffective IMO

6o4__boi 06-25-2015 12:01 PM

i'm on the fence about it too.
makes the team bigger and tougher almost instantly and COULD benefit the Sedins and keep them afloat for one more season but the guy is a slug haha
not sure if his play will keep trailing off but last year was not a good year

I would say that Miller has given the Canucks more poise and calm in the crease than any other recent Canucks goalie, including arguably Schneider. Not to say that he has been our best goalie in that same time period though. And yes, he's had his rough and bad games. Guess what, so has EVERY goalie in the league.

I'd only take Lucic if he was coming here with Rat Marchand--he's a first class prick but does his job damn well and puts up good numbers. :semisrs:

:heckno:
this guy in a Canucks jersey?
i don't think i can handle it.

Lucic and Miller on the same team...

...would be interesting :troll:
