Fuckening annoying they at least could of taken Vey as well lol

Expresso 10-06-2015 08:36 AM

What a waste. Do we have any other decent D prospects in the Organization?

SumAznGuy 10-06-2015 08:39 AM

Completely forgot, but if Vancouver didn't play Corrado that one extra game in the playoffs in 2013 against SJ, he'd still have one more year to burn which would have allowed the Nucks to send him down without going through waivers.

Now it looks like that mistake and/or not putting Higgies on IRL has lost us one of our future top 4 D men.

Nabatron 10-06-2015 08:40 AM

subban, pedan, cederholm, thats all i can think off the top of my head...that brisbois kid they picked up in the draft is ok too...

6o4__boi 10-06-2015 08:51 AM

none of those guys are nhl ready like Corrado was

unless they think Subban is ready to come for the inevitable injuries.
Shitty loss, even shittier cus its to the Leafs

dbaz 10-06-2015 08:54 AM

Tryamkin, subban, neill, mceneny, brisebois, pedan are all similar or higher potential prospects atm. Surprised the leafs waived Panik for him.
Biega is our first call up on d, and he's shown better than corrado

pastarocket 10-06-2015 08:56 AM

Benning and Linden messed up big time!

Even anybody that has experience managing a roster, for a hockey pool, would know that you can use the injured reserve slot to put a player there to retain an extra player on your roster. :lawl:

Linden admitted the error on Team 1040. That means nothing now!

Armchair GMs would have avoided this mistake!

Nabatron 10-06-2015 09:09 AM

dont mind paniks game heavy player would be alot better on the 4th line then prust!

Tim Budong 10-06-2015 09:15 AM

didnt hear what linden said on air
but he stuck to his guns on rewarding those who played well

regardless, he goofed, but you gotta go back to Gillis, he believed Corrado was good enough and by now would be a regular
sorta true...

Wouldn't you end up facing the same problems when Higgins is back from IR? The team is healthy.

Gamble now thinking teams are less likely to claim than later? Toronto willing to claim and waive Panik.

Nabatron 10-06-2015 09:18 AM

corrado was pretty much a fringe NHLer he would be at best 5,6 dman...that in mind they goofed up should have got something out of him a draft pick or at least something...on a positive note linden vey is hopefully going to stay in the minors and not get called up!

Are you talking about yesterday? Linden did not say he made a mistake. He said that they did not want to put Higgy on the IR.

6o4__boi 10-06-2015 09:26 AM

Lol Lindenning, finding new ways to excite fans, then have them tearing their hair out in disbelief over brainless moves.

I disagree. Carrado will be a top 4 NHL D man. He is only 22.
In teh 2013 playoffs, he showed a lot of ability and last year he was playing top pair minutes in Utica.

But the biggest knock against him is that he is a stay at home D man. And much like Tanev, not a lot of offensive output. Not the greatest shot so you won't have him out on the point for the PP.
One of the things that the Canucks need is a good puck moving D man with a good first pass out of the zone.

6o4__boi 10-06-2015 09:29 AM

At his worst, he was really indifferent and got caught puck-watching more than a few times.
For a guy fighting for his job he did a really shitty job.

Nothing on him, but i hope that's the guy that shows up for the Leafs. With the Canucks luck, watch him win a Norris like 5 years later.

I truely believe the leafs are trying to load up on players they see with potential and will trade them at the dead line for picks. These players cost them little or nothing as they were free agents or picked up on waivers.
As weird as it may sound, that is the only way they can fast track the "restock" of their shelves.

6o4__boi 10-06-2015 09:43 AM

wouldn't be suprised...when you spend as much money on upper management/scouts/brain trust as the Leafs does, you better be doing something clever.

Liquid_o2 10-06-2015 09:43 AM

Whether Corrado pans out or not, I think it is stupid that Canucks management did't work their roster to keep Corrado on the team for now. He was the youngest player placed on waivers. Obviously a team is going to pick up a promising 22 year old d-man who is making near the league minimum. First Clendening was thrown into the Sutter deal, now Corrado goes for nothing at all. Lets just give away all of our young d-men.

Corrado may end up being a 5th/6th d-man for his career, but this is absolutely terrible asset management from the Canucks executive team.

My bad. I mis read someone's post yesterday. Anyways, I'm excited to see the Virtanen and McCann playing with the team.

-hoping that Virtanen makes big body checks against the Flames tomorrow.

Someone's gonna get wrecked! :troll:

Nabatron 10-06-2015 09:56 AM

this is canucks asset mangement at its finest...wouldnt be surprised if they keep vrbata and hamhuis for a playoff run...and lose them in free agency for nothing..

Expresso 10-06-2015 10:09 AM

Just yesterday everybody was elated to see rookies into the line up. The very next day everyone is pissed hahaah.
