see MP4-12c, didn't clarkson say it sounded like a model of a printer? I'm not saying LaFerrari or heck, Esteem is any better... | They're trying to sell "brand" rather than "car"
Mazda president had a media conference about this.
Because Mazda is trying to follow this trend too.
Mazda Demio -> Mazda 2
Mazda Axela -> Mazda 3
Mazda Atenza -> Mazda 6
Mazda Miata -> Mazda MX5
Mazda president said that he wanted people to recognize Mazda vehicles as "Mazda" not "Atenza"
So for example, you know how people call 135i a BMW?
When people see a 135i, they don't go like "Hey look! that's a 135i" they would just say "that's a BMW/Bimmer"
Same as Ferrari, they don't go like "Wow that's a nice 575 Maranello" because people would go like "That's a nice Ferrari"
When people make customer announcements, they don't go like "a customer with black Q60 please move your vehicle" they would probably call it a "black Infiniti"
So they want the "brand" recognition, not the car.
(I'm not talking about car enthusiasts who know specifically about each and every single car, I'm talking about general public) |
