JDM RHD Valuations - Z for $253,000!

Just received the August issue of Automobile magazine. They report (p.103) that a 1970 Fairlady Z 432 sold at action for US$253,000. It was a factory special edition that had a Skyline motor from factory. They report only 420 examples where made.

Get used to it E-SPEC.
Inflation, combined with aging fanboys gaining affluence and a lack of inventory (420 made?!) will keep driving prices up.

If I were worth 5-6 million, you better believe I would spend that kind of money on this.

It is a pretty sick car.

I know my source is shaky (bornrich.com?!) but they value it at around a million bucks.
Nissan R390 GT1 - Bornrich , Price , Features,Luxury factor, Engine, Review,Top Speed, Mileage and Interiors

With only two in the world (allegedly) that is a seriously expensive Nissan.

Z432 and Z432R... rare cars.

tokyo highway patrol had them as interceptor cars too. Plenty quick cars for their time.

better go rent one and drive it in Japan before some other tourists crash it for you at fun2drive...

just thinking from an everyman's perspective, the OG skyline is way more desirable because it was never available locally.

I can understand why someone would want one with GT-R engine from factory as a collectible, but there's so many other chariots for that price tag I'd consider first. Same reason why Juke R won't be on my shopping list even as a lottery winner no matter how awesome it is on a technical perspective (gonna get failed for comparing that atrocity to the iconic Z's haha)

Since we're on a similar topic, anyone care to explain why Z32 prices are going out of control? What makes them so appealing besides simple economics?

1976 Datsun 280Z for US$50,050.

Ocotober issue of Sports Car Market magazine reports a 1976 280Z 2+2 with 1,354 miles on it sold for $50,050. They say it was a record for a non-competition 280 2+2 z car. Location Illinois.

Same issue reports a 1993 Supra driven by Paul Walker in an F&F movie fetched $199,800. They report the car had some interior mods to make it look like a racer, but otherwise was stock underneath.

Generations X and Y have disposable income. This is what they wanted when they were kids.
