Buying/renting lifejackets for kids in Maui?

The family is going to Maui (Kihei area) and we have two 1.5 yr olds who are right around the 30lb weight. Does anyone know of a place to buy or rent some life jackets (not PFDs) in the area? All of the stuff I've found online has been PFDs.

We're limited in suitcase space because they're traveling on our laps so buying in advance and bringing with us isn't likely to work.

Thanks!

Go to the nearest Costco or Walmart and buy it from there when you are in Maui.
All the rental life jackets/ PFD that I have used all stunk from not being dried properly.

There is a Costco that isn't too far from the airport IIRC.

I looked at Walmart's in-store selection and it all seems to be the vests that don't have the head support thing. Same with whats showing on the US costco online site.

I went here to look around. Didn't end up buying anything from them but it was easy to get to in a rental car.
But then again it was our second time at Maui.

Depending on how you're packing it might be worth sacrificing some space in a carry-on for them so you don't have to try and find them when you're down there. The kids could technically wear them onto the plane as well but I don't know how well that would go over with two 1.5 year olds.

Thats right up the street from where we'll be staying. We'll definitely check them out, thanks!

Haha! They don't seem to mind wearing them when we're at the pools here, but not sure that I'd want to have them on our laps while wearing them.

I know you are asking about life jackets, but I have to give you this recommendation.

I love their Poke and Kalbi ribs are good.

I *think* they'd only have to wear them through security, and then you could treat it like a jacket once you're on the plane and stow it under the seat or in the overhead bin. Heck you could probably just carry them the whole way through but I'd check with the airport/airline first, a friend of mine fly to Costa Rica while wearing his diving weights because he didn't want to have to pay an overweight baggage charge.

There's also Scuba Shack, right beside the Chevron.

Lemme guess...staying at Kihei Akahi? lol

What are you doing for strollers? Or not going to bother?
