A man with the same name as a man acquitted of racing a motorcycle up to 299 kilometres an hour on the Trans-Canada Highway through Greater Victoria has a photo of a Lamborghini seized by police for excessive speed posted on his Facebook site.

A Facebook user named Randy Scott wrote in a post Friday evening at 6:26 p.m.: “Buh bye lambo… Lol,” accompanied by a photo of a white Lamborghini pulled over in Victoria with police cars in the background.

Minutes later, Scott comments: “Got it back this morn andddd I just watched drive away on another flat deck LOL”

A white Lamborghini was seized in James Bay on Douglas and Superior streets at about 5 p.m. Friday.

A vehicle of that description was spotted several times throughout the day, including by the Integrated Road Safety Unit. Police allege the car was driven at speeds up to double the posted limit on the Trans-Canada Highway.

The driver was ticketed for excessive speed and the luxury car was impounded, police said.

Saanich Police Acting Sgt. Brad Brajcich stood in front of the impounded car — with the same licence plate as in the Facebook post — for television cameras on the weekend, saying police were unable to name the driver, other than to say he is a 28-year-old male and that he is well known to police.

In 2012, a video of a motorcyclist travelling at almost 300 km/h on the Trans-Canada Highway was posted on YouTube and went viral. The video prompted Saanich police to investigate; they seized the sport bike and charged Scott with dangerous driving. Scott was eventually acquitted.

That happened months ago ...

You could at least post an update if you're going to dig up old articles and post them as new threads.

5 RANDY SCOTT
He’s one of Greater Victoria’s most notorious drivers and it looks like Randy Scott has had a run-in with police once again.

Someone posting as Randy Scott on Facebook put this photo up on Sunday, showing what appears to be a vehicle pulled over by police.

The caption reads “and they found me”, and in the comments, the poster says he was given a 12 month BC driving prohibition.

Scott made headlines last month after his Lamborghini was clocked going more than 80km over the speed limit.

The car was impounded and the file sent to the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles who was to determine the driver’s penalty, ranging from a warning letter to a two year driving prohibition.

A Victoria man who once beat high-profile charges of dangerous driving is again on the police radar after his Lamborghini was impounded for going twice the posted speed limit.
Police say they want to talk to Randy Scott after the driver of a white Lamborghini, registered to Scott’s mother, was caught going 80 kilometres over the posted speed limit on the Trans-Canada Highway.
Scott was previously charged with dangerous driving in 2013 after a video of a motorcycle racing nearly 300 kilometres an hour through Greater Victoria went viral, gaining upward of 1.7-million hits on YouTube.

That bike was also registered to Scott’s mother, and while police believed he shot the video, they couldn’t prove that he was driving the bike at the time and Scott was acquitted.
Last month, his Lamborghini was seized and searched in a firearms investigation. On May 8, the same day he got the vehicle back, Scott posted a photo on Facebook of the car surrounded by Victoria Police with the caption “Buh Bye Lambo,” before it was impounded for seven days.
He was also slapped with a $483 fine.
Scott’s mother came to pick up the $120,000 vehicle on Saturday and hours later, he posted again on Facebook, “She’s home sweet home now.”
In another comment, Scott indicated he knows police are looking for him.
“Cops are searching for me tryin to give me a prohibition so I won’t be caught drivin it for a bit,” the post read.
The Superintendant of Motor Vehicles is now reviewing the case. Scott could face a driving ban of up to 24 months.

Hondaracer 07-20-2015 08:04 AM

Both the bike and the car can get to 300kms per hour in seconds, guy may be a Dbag but it's not like he was building up speed over kilometers at a time, the R1 can probably get over 300 in less than a half mile

hud 91gt 07-20-2015 08:23 AM

If you've seen the R1 video. It's not like he was giving her on the merge lane. It was stupidity at it's finest.

Nlkko 07-20-2015 09:22 AM

Fine and points way too low.

Just revoke license permanently. And to get it back, they needs to do like 2000 community service hours or something. Like a type of "parole". That will teach these cunts. Fast.

fliptuner 07-20-2015 11:29 AM

5yr suspension + $10k fine would be good.

After 2 years can operate a scooter under 50cc until the 5 years is up.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you haven't seen the video?
