But other than that I have seen every car on display in DTP just by cruising about in Richmond, thank you very much for collecting them together and get someone to sing a cover for "fuck you".

I have a couple questions about registering my ride:
Does it cost anything?
Do you have to be there from start to close, 2pm-11pm? Are you able to leave if yo have to?
Is it just a show n shine type deal, where you get a spot and hang out?
Registration is still open on the site; are there spots left?
Thanks!

Thanks! | 60 bucks to register a car.
This is not a show and shine, this is not a meet. This is Vancouver's only full on car show this entire summer. Trophies, models, sponsors, booths, the whole shebang. Lots of people from all over the PNW coming to compete.
I'm not gonna say they won't let you leave if you absolutely have to in an emergency, but this is a car show, the intent is that the cars in the show will be there from start to finish.
I think registration may still be open cause they opened a few more stalls, but the event is really close to full.

As a comparison, here is the email I received when I registered for this event (to date the only email I have received):
Compared to the multiple of emails I received when I registered for stancewars:
Which state exactly when, where, what to bring, what to expect, general information, etc. about the event.
I hope for goodness sake that the day of will be more organized than everything up until now has been, but I'm quickly losing hope.
Whoever is running this shit should just relinquish control to blitzgear and let them run it. Shit would be smooth as butter then.

fuck going to be stuck there for 12hrs | Yep I got an email as well.
11am makes sense, gives them and you time to stage up, setup your car and area, clean and prep the vehicle for the show, etc.
I hate shows where I spend the first 2 hours trying to get around people looking at the car to clean parts or pieces. Also looking forward to cleaning the car the night before and not having re-clean it after driving all the way down to seattle like the last 10 shows i've been at. This time finally our american friends get to deal with that BS.
Lots of stuff to do between now and the show. Should be an interesting couple nights...

Can't believe they parked Revscene in the lower parking lot...
If you can say one organization/group runs, manages, and dedicates their time to the Vancouver car scene it's Shoei and all the guys that run RS. If your gonna come into this communities city, atleast have the respect to recognize the people that basically made this city SOCAL north.
Other than that little mix up of staggering the event into two parking lots unnecessarily, everything else was pretty good for a first year event at a venue which as far as I know has never had a car show like this.
There was little glitches throughout the day, but both Blitz, the casino, and whoever else was working behind the scenes did their best to fix it promptly and keep the show going.
Overall I'm happy to say I was pretty wrong in my earlier statements about the organizing of this event, it wasn't so much that there wasn't any, I think the communication about what was happening was just a little lack luster.

When in reality we were there, just in some stupid segregated parking lot, like we are some sort of second class citizen.
Whatever I'm over it, just wanted people to know that if you missed us, it wasn't cause we weren't there. Just looking forward to the summer meet at this point.
If people have pictures of the event get them up. |

Lots of really nice cars at the show. Was nice to wander around for an hour or so. The NSX-R was my favourite, that thing was so beautifully put together, front to back, top to bottom.
The sideshow of all the nice rides in the back parking lot wasn't bad either! Looked like there was an ad hoc meet going on in the back when I left.. wanted to go but I already given up my spot to this guy in an FD that was circling looking for a spot. Couldnt stand seeing a 13b having to trudge around at low revs in that heat :P
