u guys even use your stylus? I played around with mine for maybe about a week when I got the phone and havent touched it since lol |
Note 4 users, here's a comparison video. Seems pretty similar to the Note 4, with the Note 4 still beating it out in some aspects. Just got my Note 4, so I'm glad it's not leagues better. But I'll probably upgrade next year. |
but, but, but...this is NOTE FIVEEEEE, five is better than four. :fullofwin: |
Waiting for Note 7. That would be the shit. NOTE 7!!! (cantonese) |

I have a note 4 and I put it in both ways it makes no difference... I don't know what people are talking about note 4 having the same issue. I don't feel any difference in resistance putting it in one way or the other L. . And I use my stylus daily |
Just tried putting my stylus backwards on my note 4 for shits and giggles. There's definitely resistance unless you try and jam it in... |
I realize now after seeing pics and articles. It meant by putting yhe but side in first. The guys are idiots for putting it in that way in the first place. I don't think it's a design flaw because the pen was not meant for it to be inserted that way in the first place |
There are a couple features they solved in the Note 5 that are huge improvements. One being the fingerprint scanner; I'm sure it's just like the S6. The swipe one on the Note 4 is a joke; never worked properly. But the bigger improvement is the speaker on the bottom. What the hell is up with putting the speaker on the BACK of the phone?? I sit on my couch with my phone next to me screen facing up obviously to see messages, and I get up and go to the kitchen and come back and I miss calls and texts because the speaker is muffled by the cushion. WTF Samsung? |

More importantly, the pengate problem has been solved and quite simply I may add! You just slide a piece of paper over the sensor and done! I watched this guy's dis-assembly of the note 5 videos as well and that's a little worrying. Just to change the battery, you will probably crack the back cover. If you crack the front screen, or need the charging port changed, the screen is super micro 3M taped onto the hardware board and it will probably cost you half the price of the phone in labor to get that repaired. By then I hope it's just time to change phones! |
when's the white coming out |
I haz the s6 edge plus 64gb. Holding both fones in hand I liked how the s6 looked and felt. |
^ how did you get a 64gb? non canadian version? |
you know a flagship is coming to an end when people are commenting on how it looks and how it feels rather than what it does and how it's better than it's predecessor. |
it's in your hands daily..i'd say how it feels, performs and quality of display are the most important. As for 'what it does' most flagship phones made in the last few years can text/call/browse/watch youtube just fine. As for comparison to Note 4...there were already a lot of it done in the previous pages. On topic, I think the one way pen orientation is non-issue and #pengate is severely overblown. It was in the instruction manual...and people are just carelessly stupid. |
I'm thinking of making the jump from my S4. Although it's been a decent phone, it's just not fast enough/too laggy. Not really interested in rooting it... Seems like the Notes are a lot faster at day to day multitasking, especially the 5. Only crappy thing is not having an expandable microSD slot (Note 5) :( You guys think it's worth the upgrade? |

the note 5 is a better phone in every way. only shitty thing is no 64gb version in canada yet and theres no 128gb at all. have you looked into the galaxy s6 at all? the performance is on par with the note and it's got the IR blaster.. only real gripe with the s6 is battery life but quick charging makes up for that or you could always get a battery case to go along with it. if you dont need the bigger screen size or s-pen then its honestly a great choice. |
Just got my Note 5 in to replace my s6 edge. So far I'm impressed. The fingerprint sensor seems way faster on the note compared to my s6 where sometimes I needed to try a few times before it recognized me. Still slippery but my Ringke slim case should be arriving Tuesday so just need to be careful till then. |

I thought about looking at the S6, but I figure if I'm gonna upgrade, I want a phone thats powerful and quick. Not saying the S6 isn't, but it looks like the Notes (especially the 5) still have an edge in that dept. I HATE a laggy phone. My S4 was ok, but once I got the lollipop upgrade, it's just seems to have gotten even slower. Plus, my phone is super bare bones when it comes to apps, so it's not like I have anything I can blame it on lol. I just want a phone that is snappy. Launches apps/camera quickly, and can keep up with what I'd like it to do. |
anyone have an ETA on when the white one will be released? need a phone soon but was wanting the white |
as far as i know samsung canada told me we will ONLY be getting black in canada US has black and white TW has white and gold its set by region while Viet has titanium silver |
