Moto X Play/Pure Edition

Anyone interested in this device? Thinking about the Play/Pure Edition but its not sold in Canada.. US only..

Motorola doesnt ship to PO Boxes either... really stupid

I've had the original Moto X for just over 2 years now. I absolutely love this phone. It is, however, starting to show its age.

I am certainly going to purchase the Moto X Style when I visit Seattle come September.
It's probably going to be as good as how I remember mine being when it was unboxed.

That being said, it's disappointing to see they dropped the AMOLED screen in favour for TFT. The whole idea behind the AMOLED was to save battery with active notifications enabled. No idea what this will do to the battery. It may not affect it at all. It won't stop me from buying it either.

moto x play comes out this fri

Moto X Play launching in Canada this Friday | MobileSyrup.com

it will be available through carriers except for rogers/fido.. and be $400 outright..

assuming moto x pure will be a $100 difference when it comes out in the states

how is motorola track record when updating android? i know they run an almost "vanilla" OS...

as much as i love my note 3, samsung takes a long ass time to release the updates

Mr.HappySilp 08-19-2015 09:07 AM

The last gen of Moto X is actually pretty good same with the moto G and Moto E.

FerrariEnzo 08-19-2015 10:35 AM

Not sure if I still want the Moto X... Lenovo laying off the whole moto software team and putting their own in.. gona suck?

Razor Ramon HG 08-19-2015 11:07 PM

Motorola is pretty consistent with their software updates

!MiKrofT 08-20-2015 08:05 PM

More interested in the Moto X Style actually.

Moto X > Note 5

FerrariEnzo 08-25-2015 11:09 AM

BestBuy US will also carry the Moto X Style..

cant wait... if its not too much more then online, might just drive down there to buy it

mos_skeeto 08-25-2015 03:37 PM

x play doesn't have a gyro :/

dub.g 08-25-2015 06:04 PM

^lol

other than that, the moto x play has been getting decent amount of reviews

Review: Motorola Moto X Play - Canadian Reviewer - Reviews, News and Opinion with a Canadian Perspective

its the specs that baffles my mind.. $400 for Snapdragon 615 and 2gb of ram.. reviews say it runs without a hitch but cant help but compare to asus zenfone 2 or even one plus one for similar price..

the battery and the camera is its in main selling point..

i think motorola will eventually release the Style here eventually like how Play will be released in the states under the name Droid Maxx2.. possibly under rogers/fido exclusive since they the only ones not carrying the Play

id still rather buy it unlock

mos_skeeto 08-25-2015 10:31 PM

hmm

MotoX Style (Pure)

$399 16gb
$449 32gb
$499 64gb

Which one would you all get?

I would go with the 16gb. I dnt require much space plus it has SDcard and USB support for external drives..

Tr1ll 09-05-2015 09:54 AM

16GB. If I need more storage that's what expandable storage is for.

dub.g 09-05-2015 07:00 PM

marshmallow is suppose to improve the expandable storage support

Android M Update Will Include Native Micro SD Support

i would go with 16gb as well

moto x pure edition as been getting great reviews..... the battery is ok enough to last all day but its no galaxy note

I still use my MotoX first generation... The phone is still functional, but the battery barely lasts me a work day.

I am thinking of upgrading to either a newer Moto X when the time comes or Samsung S6 Active if they ever release it in Canada.

dub.g 09-15-2015 08:50 AM

so it comes with a bumper case right out of the box.... if only they could have included temper glass :fullofwin:

ill wait until after google announces the nexus line up.. otherwise its time to upgrade from my note 3
