Port Coquitlam class 7 road test tips?

Anyone recently given a class 7 road test in port coquitlam? How are the examiners at the poco centre and what kind of a route do they take you on?
Im assuming that it is within 4 blocks of the testing center. I recently failed my test at another location (putting it plainly, worst driving i did any day with a pretty annoying examiner), and want to prepare better for this one.

i did both my road tests at richmond, easy peasy. Not sure how much easier it will be in Poco with all the hills. I'm pretty sure the testing radius if further than 4 blocks...

This is true, but for class 7, as you are fairly new, there are easier areas than others to drive in.

When I did my class 5 in Poco, they took me all the way up to Wellington park then back down coast meridian. I failed because I was going 35 in a 30 (park zone), which is a perfectly valid reason for failing. But from what I've heard they mark hard unless you're on a motorcycle.

For my N test, I did the first try in Richmond (failed because I drove on a painted island and apparently didn't shoulder check when I got out of the car --which is bullshit--) during the beginning of rush hour. Do not recommend. 2nd time I did it out in Maple Ridge in the middle of a thunderstorm and passed. I highly recommend MR if you're willing to go out that far. They were by far the most chill examiners I've spoken to.

Langely has good wide roads compared to where I live and is less congested, but its dates are extending into end-October to early-November. I want to use my car primarily for commuting to work, at the moment it takes me 2.5 hours (3 buses, 1 sky train), so I would like to get it as early as possible.

I'm pretty good on basic and safe driving skills. I've been driving for 5 years now, although this is the first time I'm serious about a license because I got my own car. By driving tips, Im asking about particular landscapes or areas specific to the PoCo region where drivers make more mistakes or are surprised.

Actually, Maple Ridge was my first driving center as it is where I live, but because of the unpleasant experience I had with them and the pestering examiner, I'm not going to choose this testing center again.
Yeah, I plan to spend the coming 3 weeks driving near the PoCo testing center to get familiar with the area, especially low speeding zones. During my test school traffic laws will be in effect.

That's dumb. Right now, school zones shouldn't be in effect unless there's a summer school sign. They should expect anyone taking the test to distinguish the difference.

I did my class 7 (twice) in Poco. Know your speed limits and you'll do fine.

Was speed limit violation the primary cause of your failure the first time?
Im asking because i know it can get a bit tricky controlling the speed going uphill/downhill, and wanna watch out for that.

That park I mentioned in my post is at the bottom of a hill, if they take you up there be really careful of your speed.

I threw grapes at him when he passed my house

When I did my class 3 and 6 in Burnaby, I just showed up when they opened and asked if there was time to get tested that day. Both times I waited less than 2 hours to get tested.

Ages ago, I took my Class 5 on Commercial/Grandview - notoriously the hardest place to pass a road test due to the high volume of traffic, pedestrians, uncontrolled intersections and playgrounds. As long as you're aware of your surroundings, it shouldn't matter where you go.

I took my class 5 at Poco and it was easy, they will take you through some parks, school zones and over the new broadway bridge. Just watch your speed and some to complete stops, keep your hands and 10-2 and shoulder check you will be fine.

I went under in places I should have been going quicker, and higher in places I should have been going slower. Lot's of the roads they take you on don't have marked speed limits so I was doing 30 down a single lane road when I should have been going 50.

Just go practice driving around there and you'll do well.

Took my class 7 in poco. Stayed to the 50kph limit .. You will be taken into a 30zone.. No hwy driving since there really no hwy around there (you should still have hwy practice).. All in all its super easy. Don't drive over manholes or white cross walk lines.. U turn in residential area, so practice..

Again its super easy.. I asked them about speed limits and they said they weren't even watching my speed since I was a confident rider...

Does it have to be 10-2.? One of the driving schools i asked to evaluate me also said the same thing, but i find 9-3 more comfortable.
Another problem i have is that i often find myself steering with one hand during and after a turn.

Lol, that probably classifies as a hazard in the "surprises" category. But must have been stressful at that time

9-3 / 10-2 is fine

Steer with BOTH hands

Turn with BOTH hands

You get points deducted during the test if you steer with one hand/turn with one hand

Did my class 7 in Richmond, super easy

- hands 9-3 and always on the wheel;
- ALWAYS shoulder check when switching lanes/turning;
- don't cross your arms when turning;
- don't change lanes in an intersection;
- ALWAYS keep an eye on your speed, but that goes without saying. It's very easy to break the limit if you're not cognizant of it; and
- don't drive like a snail. Aim for 45-47 in a 50 zone and 25-27 in a 30 zone

Abide by these points and you should pass ez pz lemon squeezy, provided that you're not atrocious at driving
