C-Class Coupe - Next Gen - Top Gear Article and Pics

Recently unveiled new C-Class Coupe.

The interior looks top notch except some minor things.

Here is the article and pics:

Quote:
As night follows day, so Coupe follows Saloon. Merc unveils the new two-door C-Class. PLUS: teaser footage of C63 AMG Coupe

The one you want has yet to be revealed, but the one most of you will actually buy is here. This is the brand new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. Isn’t it pretty?

Of course, you want the C63 AMG Coupe (the one teased in the video at the end of the gallery above), but we’re still waiting on AMG to finish that biturbo V8 monster, so here’s the ‘standard’ version, which will arrive by the end of the year.

As you can no doubt verify with your own eyes, it is the two door version of the new C-Class saloon, with a new ‘sportier’ front end, long bonnet and a dropping roofline that leads into an S-Class-style rear end. Or as Benz puts it, “the Mercedes coupe genes”.

The C-Coupe is lighter than before, too, thanks to light-alloy construction for the wings, bonnet and boot lid, while the body itself is stiffer than before. And that swoopy bodystyle helps it achieve a drag coefficient of 0.26. This is a Good Cd.

As mentioned, the 4.0-litre AMG version is a way off, so at launch, you’ll have the option of a 1.6-litre, four-pot petrol C180 with 156bhp, and a 2.0-litre petrol with 184bhp (C200) 211bhp (C250), or indeed 245bhp in the C300.

Diesels? There are two – a 2.1-litre four-cylinder available with 170bhp or 204bhp, while inside it’s all C-Class saloon, verbatim, barring a pair of specially designed sports seats exclusive to the Coupe.

The C-Class Coupe is also 95mm longer and 40mm wider than before, and sits 15mm lower than the new C-Class saloon, to emphasize its schportier nature, on standard-issue steel suspension. This steel setup is available with ‘Agility Control’ (comfort orientated) or sports suspension including direct steer. You can spec air suspension too, if you want.

As with any modern Mercedes-Benz, there is a small army of electronic assistance on board to prevent everything from drowsiness to full nuclear war. Probably. Things like collision prevention systems, adaptive cruise control, brake assist, lane keeping assist, parking assist, sat-nav traffic sign assist, and many, many others.

Have a scroll through the pictures and let us know what you think. Would you take one over a BMW 4-Series or Audi A5?
This is the brand new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe | Top Gear

What do you guys think?

It competes against the fairly new 4 series and the A5 (pretty old, though the next gen will arrive in a little over a year).

Not a fan of the rear end. I prefer the sharp lines of the previous generation. Other than that, its a fairly good looking car

The roofline is too 4 series Gran Coupe-ish, sad it doesn't have the same styling as the C204.

The overall look reminds me of the Acura TL, which I like but most don't seem to

back end looks like a squished and stubby version of the s63 coupe. s63 coupe is the sexiest baller coupe i've seen in a while tbh.
