Ok guys, I have a dilemma.

I spilled olive oil onto the speaker of my Blackberry Classic and I can't hear anything anymore. I have to use a Bluetooth headset so needless to say, the phone is fucked. I cannot get the Classic repaired or replaced, so my only options are: iPhone , Android (Nexus 6P) or the Priv. I don't download apps, so e-mail, SMS, calendar, and contact list are my main go-to functions.

I still want to maintain the Blackberry functions (mainly the e-mail client) - how is the operating system on the Priv? Is it bloated and heavy or is it pretty smooth like BB10? Or is it too early to tell for you guys? My biggest beef with Android is that over time, the OS upgrades stop, or the upgrades weigh down the phone, as if it was intended to destroy the phone so you buy a new one. Blackberry has always been very good to me for work, but fucking hipster olive oil destroyed it.

i have been bb fan since day 1, i came from passport to priv. I really love the passport but it would not detect signals anymore so i was forced to use priv

it's a good thing i guess, esp, when whatsapp support stops in dec. i didn't like the battery life on the priv. it'll still be smooth, and a few glitches u won't like, but it's an adjustment u'll have to make.

Depending on which Priv you get will determine how quickly you will receive updates, Blackberry is currently the quickest OEM to maintain monthly security updates , beating Nexus' a week or two head.

The android that comes with Priv is stock , with some nice blackberry touches. The OS itself requires way more juice to get it running smoothly and the priv does it good.

You could just score another classic for cheap on ebay, most range from 100-2xx if you want to keep the costs down.

Feel free to ask more questions, i can get you EPP for classic/priv/passport/dtek50 BNIB straight from Blackberrry
