knight604 10-06-2015 12:41 AM

Blackberry doesn't usually do preorders, when they come out , they are out.

knight604 10-07-2015 05:32 PM

Accessories are starting to show up online , means it is SOON.

I really hope the sales on the Venice/Priv take off and blackberry becomes the mobile giant that it used to be again. I absolutely love blackberries. I even switch from my 1plus1 to my old bold 9900 sometimes just because of how great bb's are to use. So excited for this phone!! Only thing that I would say about it is that I miss how with the old bb's you could drop them and do whatever you wanted with them and they would still be alright. Guess that's something that blackberry had to give up to stay competitive with all the phones on the market

FerrariEnzo 10-07-2015 06:49 PM

if the price is right, they migh bounce back.. I doubt at $600+ there would be many people attracted.. $400+ might be the sweet spot..

alwayslive 10-07-2015 07:10 PM

Really depends how they market the product as well through. If they priced it at 400 it gives the consumer the impression that the product is interior to the ones on the market. I think 6-7 hundred is a good price point, not so high that the hardcore bb fans will start complaining and think they sold out, and low enough for the regular phone user to be able to try it out without breaking the bank. With the right marketing and if it stays true to the blackberry name this product will skyrocket

I wouldn't say that BB's given up that quality at all. My Z30 and Classic have both been rock solid in terms of reliability and I'm very tough on my phones.

knight604 10-08-2015 10:56 AM

Blackberry has always built solid phones.

underscore 10-08-2015 12:24 PM

I've still got two separate phones, and my work phone is an old Bold 9900. Upgrading to this *might* finally convince me to go to a single phone.

RRxtar 10-08-2015 04:50 PM

its not that new blackberries are any less durable than the OS7 and older phones, its just that 5"+ of glass is a little harder to protect than the 2.4" screens on the old ones.

This phone should (and likely will) be priced in the $750 range. Keep in mind, Iphones and Galaxies are now a fucking thousand dollars. the Priv will be spec'ed equal or in some cases better, so it will still be a bargain. If they priced it in the $400 range, they would be losing a ton of money, and also make the product look inferior like a 2nd grade phone which is not the market they are after.

RRxtar 10-08-2015 04:54 PM

Im pretty well convinced to park my Z30 for a Priv. I just hope the benefits of android, and some of the hardware upgrades (camera) outweigh the loss of BB10.

I still cant believe people talk so bad on blackberry without ever having used a BB10.2.1 or newer phone. gestures, the hub, peek and flow, and active frames, and the simple and clean way the OS functions is just so damn good. most people who shit on BB are still comparing their Iphone5 or newer or G5 or newer to the Curve they used to have.

That might kill it for me then, I've never understood having such an expensive phone, especially when they're so easy to accidentally destroy or lose and their functionality is limited as fuck for the price.

knight604 10-08-2015 07:41 PM

Seriously though , this device is beautiful as fuck. Guy says it is thinner than his note 5.

november can't come any sooner!

knight604 10-09-2015 10:25 AM

If the stars align, we could possibly see a end of October release date.

FerrariEnzo 10-09-2015 03:34 PM

come on.. $499 and I would buy one.. dnt be more then

BBMme 10-09-2015 03:34 PM

Imagine everything you want from android but with the added security and no BS apps. I think we got a winner here.

Tr1ll 10-09-2015 03:40 PM

This phone might just bring me back to Blackberry if reviews are solid. I miss my 9700.

people really think they can get a flagship device for $499?

there isn't a single quality device out there for even close to that. you can't even get a 2 generation old S4 for under $500 from a carrier
