What do you guys think about this phone?

Best of both worlds or just going to be another flop like the Blackberry Torch?

Nabatron 08-29-2015 01:46 PM

its different....but its running android so it will appeal so some android fans i guess

knight604 08-29-2015 01:49 PM

Lol comparing the torch to this device is apples to oranges.

BB10 is light years away from BBOS

Rumour/confirmed specs:

Quote:

5.4-inch Quad-HD with dual edge display
18 MP rear-camera
5 MP front-camera
1.8 GHz Hexa-core (Snapdragon 808 chipset) 64-bit
3 GB RAM
3000+mah battery non removable
Two variants ; blackberry10 OS and/or android os with BlackBerry Experience Suite

if this comes with stock android like its showing in the pictures, its a definite win in my books.

Teriyaki 08-29-2015 04:41 PM

With the right price, and if that keyboard is anything like my old Bold... gotdamnn

kkthind 08-29-2015 06:41 PM

I got mixed feelings about this phone

bcrdukes 08-29-2015 06:49 PM

Android...On a Blackberry? :suspicious:

chipmunk604 08-29-2015 07:18 PM

it's definitely best of both worlds. what is there not to like? decked out specs, great hardware, most likely comes with 32gb internal storage with expandable microsd slot, physical keyboard, and android OS with bb10 hub integration would be awesome, so all the apps will be covered. I am just worried about the wear and tear on the sliding mechanism.

I am still loving my passport and I can't let it go yet. But, I foresee myself picking up the white one down the road.

Looks awesome... Android with BB physical keyboard.. awesome for the texter...

!MiKrofT 08-30-2015 10:52 AM

Interesting for sure.

Always did want a Blackberry phone on Android software and now one actually exists.

E.D.C.5 08-30-2015 03:58 PM

android and BB keyboard sounds like the perfect combination, but i still gotta see the size of the phone. Since the Venice has a slider, I feel the need to actually see the width of the actual phone in person before thinking about jumping on this.

alwayslive 08-30-2015 11:13 PM

I have been looking to get another blackberry and was just about to get the passport.. going to hold onto the one plus one until this thing comes out. Android with the functionality of a blackberry and a keyboard sounds great. I miss how easy it was to make notes and a schedule on blackberry.

Jsunu 08-31-2015 07:43 AM

I just want a classic bb with android

ae101 08-31-2015 09:48 PM

FINALLY a phone that i actually want with BB

now just have to wait for nokia android comeback

Purely 08-31-2015 11:07 PM

Interesting combination, I wonder if they will introduce Android to the Passport as well.

knight604 09-15-2015 07:59 PM

Looks like I'm going back to berry. Only potential problem I see is that it may be difficult to type lying down while holding the phone in front of your face due to the sheer size of the phone

knight604 09-16-2015 02:10 PM

Dates to look forward to sept 17th, 25th and october 7th.

Im betting my money on the 25th during the fiscal.

entrax 09-16-2015 02:25 PM

wow. le gf has been ranting on and on for years about wanting an android with a physical keyboard just like her old torch 9800.

this is essentially that. looks good and this should have been the phone blackberry came out with 3 years ago.

knight604 09-16-2015 06:37 PM

By the way, its rumored to be 750 CAD.

Not far off from passport which i paid 700 before tax.

knight604 09-18-2015 12:17 PM
