Another QC2.0 USB Chargers

My old 4-port USB power is getting old, and this new toy will replace it :hotbaby:
The 12v USB amp meter hasn't arrived yet, can't do much testing on it.

Update with tests when your USB volt/amp meter arrives!

syee 09-07-2015 09:53 PM

I picked up one of these from Amazon a few weeks back. Tested it for a few minutes today on the S6 and QC seems to work on it. Battery wasn't completely depleted enough to see it charge at max speed, but it's definitely drawing 9V for Quick Charge according to the USB Power Meter.

asian_XL 09-08-2015 12:35 AM

bought the wrong USB meter, new 13v meter will come on thursday

Razor Ramon HG 09-08-2015 08:12 PM

How is Choetech? I see it on Amazon up there with Anker and Aukey.

I bought this today and it should arrive tomorrow.

Should be able to QC my LG G4 since replacement batteries for the G4 are expensive.

asian_XL 09-09-2015 01:34 AM

All G4 should come with replacement battery in the box, sneaky shops take it out and charge it at ridiculous price. I have to buy mine for $17cdn.

Make sure your Aukey can charge at 12V, the page shows 5v only. Spoke with Aukey CS, they said newer one supports input 12v.

Thinking about picking up something like this (http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00L...f_rd_i=desktop) or the one in OP.

That's only in Asia, here we only have one battery in box...

It says it's QC 2.0 enabled, is that not 12v?

A review says - voltage supported is 5V, 9V, 12V

Got something like that on my last visit to China. I think the brand is call Rock. Seems decent. Charges my iphone pretty quick but not so on my ipad.

Razor Ramon HG 09-09-2015 09:17 PM

Ok, got my Aukey today.

Charges up to 2100mA when the screen is off.

Excellent value for $24. Should be able to charge my G4 twice with one battery.

soo this thing will essentially QC any device I plug into it?

kinda like how the new note4/S5/S6 or whatever can quick charge with the oem charger that it comes with? except now I dont need to have the oem charger I can just plug a USB directly into this thing and it will quick charge my phone/device?

Yeah, I think so.

My G4 doesn't tell me if it's fast charging or not like the S6, but it seems as fast as my stock charger (so it's faster than a traditional power bank anyways).

For $24, I don't regret it. 45-50% charge in 30 minutes is more than acceptable for me.

Ikkaku 09-10-2015 06:58 PM

I have the same Aukey charger, but paid $29.99 shipped lol..

works well enough for me, no complaints...

Razor Ramon HG 09-10-2015 06:59 PM

I got the student Prime trial for six months, that's why :p

asian_XL 09-10-2015 09:33 PM

See my first post on voltage testing and images

Razor Ramon HG 09-10-2015 09:42 PM

Which Aukey is that? Is it same one as mine? I don't have a USB voltmeter to check, but my speeds seem pretty good.

I read that the 20/21AWG cables that are short are the best for charging.

asian_XL 09-10-2015 11:57 PM

24AWG is good for 5v2a = 10watt
I ordered some OEM LG 20AWG for future proof.

My aukey is 12000Mah, see my post earlier

What phone are you using? I think the recommendation would depend on whether your phone supported QC 2.0 or not.

is it fine to charge non-compatible QC 2.0 phones on QC 2.0 chargers? so i can "future proof" my stuff?

Yep - I plugged my iPad into the QC 2.0 port of my charger and it spits out 5V 2A. (so basically it will change the voltage and current to match the requirements of the device that's plugged in)
