the settings:
individual
sport+
sport
normal
economic
are more for the engine characteristics, shift points, suspension settings and dependent on the vehicle, even climate control. they were experimenting with these in the new C class with active drive. on most of the models, it only affects the engine performance, and shifting.
the eco start/stop runs on a different control unit. but that being said, i think the S class has it somewhat tied in together. i think it disables it in sport mode or sport+

So you can actually have your car in sport mode, and it will still shut off the engine when you come to a stop. Unbelievably retarded. If I have the car in sport mode, I don't want it turning off at red lights, I want it ready to pounce off that redlight when I hit it. |
