Universal Pictures can't find a director for Fast and Furious 8 because of Vin Diesel Universal Pictures Can't Find Anyone To Direct Fast & Furious 8 https://www.carthrottle.com/post/uni...ast-furious-8/ Despite absolutely raking in cash from the F&F franchise, Universal is struggling to find anyone who'll direct the next movie, largely due to the fact Vin Diesel is difficult to work with The seventh instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise grossed £983 million ($1.5 billion) across the globe this year, so you’d think that being given the opportunity to direct Furious 8 would be high on many people’s list. Nope. Universal Pictures is reportedly struggling to find someone to direct the next film, after Jeremy Wan turned down a "life-altering" sum of money to continue in his role. Universal has also tried to bring back Justin Lin, the man responsible for directing the third through sixth movies, but he turned the role down to work on the next Star Trek film instead. The problem, it appears, is that despite the high profile role and truckloads of cash on offer, a number of factors are proving unappealing. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Vin Diesel was incredibly difficult to work with in his role as producer on the last movie. He would stop filming to question even the smallest details in a scene, holding up production on an already tight schedule following the death of Paul Walker. Vin Diesel was also known to demand late night script sessions to help him get to know his character and his lines. That must have been particularly frustrating for his co-workers as Dominic Toretto is essentially a human battering ram who occasionally grumbles something about ‘family.’ On a personal note for Wan, it is believed that he found working on Furious 7 so stressful that it even affected his personal health. Following Walker’s death, the script had to be hugely altered and CGI body doubles had to be inserted into some scenes. Naturally, all parties have denied any friction, but the truth of the matter is that Universal has been scrambling around for potential directors without any luck. Furious 8 is pencilled in for an April 2017 release, and as the days roll by without a director at the helm, that release date looks less and less likely. https://d37nk263jfz2p8.cloudfront.ne...3e00403bd2.jpg |
we dont need dom just paul, a gtr, and a gallo24. |
Paul Walker has passed away. Let the series end as his legacy. :angel2: Production companies can remake movies with the same premise, different actors, more cars and it will always appeal to young movie-goers. The profits will still be there. If it is as frustrating as reported, maybe it's time Toretto got disrespected and be forced to close his sandwich shop and end his movie career. OpieOP |

I don't think I've watched more than 10 of these titles, let a lone pay to watch one. |
Time for a reboot? |

If someone told you you'd be watching F&F 7+ when the original launched, it would have been a joke. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to make it to 16. |
The film studio will find a director who will make F&F 8. There was an insane amount of money that was made from Furious 7. The head of the studio and Vin Diesel would be crazy not to make another movie. They will find a way to get it done. |
No, just reboot with a new cast. Not the same fucking story. Just a new story with a similar street racing theme to kick it all of and eventually we're back to crashing cars out of skyscrapers in Dubai. Maybe have one character cross over for some continuity. But times have changed. It isn't 2001 anymore...street racing and modified car culture is very different now. They'll do this eventually. You know that when they're done making Vin Diesel F&F movies, they'll reboot this shit with a spin-off somehow. |

You can't reboot it... To be honest, it's the characters that are holding this ship together. That's why no one likes any of these racing movies like Need For Speed. It's garbage without the Fast and Furious crew. |
take us back to what the original F&F was about please |
