Does this battery drain only affect certain batches of the 6P? Mine has been okay so far, while others I know who have the phone, their devices were nothing more than paperweight. |
mine has been fine other than the early shutdown.. before 7.1.2 it would shutdown at 60-50% but now its around 20-10%... otherwise no battery drain i got mine october 19 2015 from google store so assuming my 6p is one of the first few batches. been charging it everyday since |
I purchased my 6P in November 2015. I didn't have any early shut down problem until February this year, with updates as soon as they have come out. I'm probably within the first few batches also... But maybe that just makes it more likely that my battery is in the batch that is dying due to natural lifespan issues? |
my 6P just died yesterday. Bootloop of death. Charged it and when I went to turn it on boom...done! Just past warranty by 4 months as well. |
Class action lawsuit for battery issues. Not in Canada though. https://www.engadget.com/2017/04/21/...attery-issues/ |
My sister's 5X got stuck in a bootloop 2 weeks ago and google replaced it My brother's 6P is stuck in a bootloop this week and he's contacted google about it Probably totally unrelated, but my 5 also got stuck in a bootloop and I had to reflash it again, losing all my data WTF is going on? WutFace |
dealing with huawei out of warranty is a pain they straight up said no i have to try google later... but i unno.. i bought mine in HK and it has official warranty i want to trade my LG G6 for a Pixel |
LG said they won't fix US phones, and the 5X google sold me from their "canadian" store was a US model. Google offered to replace it with reasonably little hassle. |
Huawei got back and basically sent me a PDF file telling me to try recovery, clear cache and if that dosen't work. Contact them with date of purchase. I figure once they see it is out of warranty and I bought it from Koodoo, they will say go and talk to them plus you are out of warranty. Too bad this lawsuit is in the states only. |
My 5x went into bootloop back in December. Google basically told me you are out of warranty go deal with it yourself. |
Dafuq?! The problem is affecting 5X as well? |
we're alll doomed. I better backup my 6P just in case. |

Sounds like most people haven't had success with a replacement/fix especially out of warranty? |
So there is a fix for the Nexus 6P bootloop over at XDA forums. Just tried it and my 6P booted up again, a bit slower but at least it boots up. Basically someone at XDA managed to make it so the 6P uses its 4 small cores instead of using all 8cores. the issue is the 4 big clusters are the one that is causing the issue |

I ended up calling Google as my 6p was getting battery drain issues (sometimes shutting down when it's showing 20-30% battery life). Even though it is a year out of warranty, they were nice enough to send a refurb to me free of charge. Might be important to note that I bought directly from Google. |
I got mine through a regular retail channel. A quick chat session with Huawei and they were cool with repairing it. You have to send it in though, which I have not yet done. Make sure you have proof of purchase, or else you're screwed. My phone was at least 1.5 years old and they okay'd the warranty. |
I bought a 6P the week it came out (Fall 2015). Battery life was good for the first month and then became pretty dumpy after that. Only issue I ever had was improper charging but that was due to lint build up in the phone's tail hole. Easy fix. Never had a single boot loop issue. That said: - I don't have a ton of apps on my phone - I shut my phone off every night when I sleep :alone: Not sure if either of these make a difference to long term performance / reliability though. |

I basically told them the battery drain issue and they said it's a known problem with certain 6P devices and a specific software update that was brought out around December 2016. I got my phone Nov 2015 and only had a standard 1 year warranty. They said that given that this was an actual manufacturer/Google software issue, they will give me a refurb phone even though it's way out of warranty!! I've got a refurb 6P coming my way now!:fuckyea: I told them the story that basically my phone started dying at 20% around December, and then around April it would die around 40-60%... Told them that my phone was basically a brick because I wouldn't have it functional 2-3 hours after my morning began. |
My Nexus 5 is on its last days. Power button is failing, USB port already failed (it only connects at certain angles, and only from chargers, not PC). It was a US launch version, before they started selling it in my region. So I can't use its LTE connectivity. Anyone know of a phone that is similar in dimension, main specs (most important to me are RAM and screen resolution) and most of all price? 5x would have been perfect but that is also discontinued. |
You can download Android 8.0 Oreo right now if you have a compatible Pixel or Nexus device https://mobilesyrup.com/2017/08/21/a...nexus-devices/ |

I think mines was just as bad....had to carry an Anker 10050+ that's fully charged beginning of the day, and completely drained by end of night. |
^ call google support, they will replace your device with a refurb for free edit: yes, even out of warranty! |
