The only draw for me is the pure vanilla android experience.. which I loved on my N5.

sorry...2GB memory even for a $500 phone is underwhelming. Android needs more memory than iOS and 2GB is just the minimum these days...so the 5X will likely have a pretty short shelf life.

Huawei, well rumours are just rumours but I can't take the chance of the Chinese gov't spying on me. Same reason why I won't buy Lenovo either. Call me CiC and I know Apple/Google isn't above the NSA but i'd like to think it's the lesser of the two evils.

Think I've moved on from Nexus. Had the Nexus 4 and 5, great phones, but at their prices. For the same price I might as well buy a Note 5...which I'm sure I will

I can understand why there is such resentment / backlash against the Nexus 6 and 5X / 6P, but I really find that resentment to be unfortunate. Having built up the Android brand through the Nexus line, Google has simply moved the Nexus products to a different market position. Instead of being a midrange best-bang-for-the-buck type of phone, they have simply shifted the Nexus upmarket. From a business perspective, this make total sense -- especially when a certain market has already been established, you try to move upmarket by sacrificing a bit of sales volume in exchange for a significant increase in profit margins. The net effect is, you end up turning in an overall higher profit.

The current Nexus line is still a fantastic deal -- you get the latest and greatest tech showcase, in a no nonsense, pure Android experience straight from the factory. You just can't get that from anywhere else.

Engineering and reliability-wise, I would not worry about Huawei at all. They are a huge company, and much of our telecommunication hardware (at the infrastructural level) is already using their stuff.

On a personal level, however, I am not sure if I could trust the company though. They have been accused many times before in the past regarding personal privacy violations and sending data back to China and stuff...

I don't like the finger print sensor on the back. I often work with my phone on the desk, beside me and that means to unlock it I would have to pick it up.

Ordered the nexus 5x after the 6p, yet the 5x is supposed to come a week earlier.

It's the privacy stuff I'm sorta iffy with Huawei in iffy with. Ughhh.... Till then, my nexus 6 gets me 36+ hrs. With 4+ hr SOT roughly 30-45min of music streamed from Google music.

However WhatsApp web keeps phone awake for roughly 3hrs per charge. Lol

I just read the Nexus 5x doesn't include an USB type A to Type C cable.
Why would they do that? Not that many people have USB Type C on their computers.
