Whistler in November: hotels + things to do??
 

Planning a birthday weekend for the woman. It's either something materialistic and ridiculously expensive, or a nice weekend away.. I choose the latter, but I guess there's time to change that haha.

Hotels: looking at Westin or Fairmont. Anyone have a preference/reasoning as to one or the other?
- Also started looking at Nita Lake Lodge and the Hilton?

Dinner: was either thinking of the Village tasting menu, or choosing one to spend our evening at. Leaning towards choosing one as I'd like to relax and not worry about moving around, but trying more than one restaurant could be nice.
- Was thinking of going to Araxi/Rim Rock

Things to do?
- Scandinavia spa is probably going to be a 100% thing..
- anything else? is Ziplining in November a good time?

I've gone to Araxi with my woman before, we had a good time there.
I would definitely advise against the expensive materialistic present. A weekend away says alot more.

At rimrock i've had far better "complete" meals than Araxi, oysters and drinks at Araxi but i find their overall dinner offerings arent that great.

Barefoot if they are into wine, although with barefoot i always feel that it's simply expensive because whistler needed "that" bracket of dining, typically i dont find their food much superior to other places in the Village. For a steak i'd prefer to go to Hy's than Barefoot, although the Hy's in whistler is almost too casual for my liking as opposed to the Vancouver location

Hotels:
Both hotels you have in mind are good. Westin is right at the base of the chairlifts so accessing the village is only couple steps away. Late night bratwurst dog at the stand by the chair lifts ��. Fair Mont is a little further away. But they offer shuttles which come and go every 15min, last run is around midnight? Walking distance is about 15 min, mind you it gets cold at night around that time of year. I've had real good service at both hotels, but I usually book Westin for the convenience of location.

Dinner:
I love going to grill and vine inside Westin, open kitchen disign. Stone oven roasted pork and seafood linguini are my go to there. Still waiting for a Gordon Ramsey moment in the kitchen ��
Araxi was good, have a good selection for oyster bar

Things to do?
Scandinavia spa is awesome haha, their RMT are good but you'll need to book them ahead of time's
I love the RZR off road tour, ripping it up the mountain on a trail with a guide. Sick view While heading up and even better view on top (alpine sunrise tour)

Dinner tours is a must do.

The farther, longer zipline (Superfly) is better with better scenery.

Araxi is really good and the service is top notch.

Westin is a little "older" than the Fairmont IMO, but both hotels are good.

For convenience, Westin is in the "main" Village.

Hilton, by far, is the oldest of all the hotels you mentioned.

Nita Lake Lodge is very, very good but it is a little off the main village (references: one of my relatives).

Have you taken a look at the Four Seasons? Prices are similar to Fairmont but I like it better. Fairmont has that "old school" charm to it though.

Ended up booking a room at the Fairmont. Got the deluxe package with valley view for $280/night, which was about 150 cheaper than what Four Seasons would have been.

Leaning towards Elements for brunch, Scandinave Spa, followed by dinner at either (1) RimRock or (2) taste tour.. can't choose!
