Season 2 just premiered yesterday, and it's been getting crazy good reviews. I found the episode on itunes right away, and for some reason it was free instead of $3.49 as usual. Weird?
Either way, I think this show is brilliant. If you liked the 1996 Coen Bros movie, I think you'll the show. Some of the cleverest writing I've ever heard on a show, combined with cinematography, production design, and music that is so deliberate and thought through, it really creates a specific, eerie tone. Match that with a stellar cast and phenomenal acting down to the bit parts, and you've got one of the best shows on television.
The first season won a bunch of Emmy's a couple years ago, but this last season missed the cut for this year's Emmy's but you can bet this next season will show up in full force next year.
Much like True Detective, the second season is similar but unrelated to the first. New cast, new story, but same tone and "world" of the show.
Last year it was Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Freeman, Colin Hanks and more, this year it's Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons from Breaking Bad, Ted Danson, Patrick Wilson, and some cool cameos like Nick Offerman and Bruce Campbell.
This first ep was phenomenal, so stoked for the season!
Not just because it's a good show...but I'm happy to say I'm a part of it. I'm in episode 8

Got to meet Ted Danson, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons and Patrick Wilson, and chat with them about the show and other stuff out in Calgary. Such a great experience. Shot it back in early May, finally get to see it!
