Car buying is not rocket science. Just the right deal, and we're not talking about just the numbers, but the whole experience overall; the complete works along with the car (the dealer, the service, the backing, the peace of mind) that is true value in the car buying experience. | couldn't agree more with you Tofu1413. Most sales guys don't understand when you start making a few bucks and want to buy something more special to reward yourself, it is not just getting the car of your dreams, but the experience of buying the car of your dreams. Since you have allot of repeat customers I am sure you are well versed in providing your customers this positive purchasing experience.

To be frank, premium service is basic for a premium dealer. gotta rep the brand yo.
Word really gets around in Vancouver, so a bad rep isnt a great thing.
I did have a few disgruntled customers, but the reasoning were simple: the car constantly gave them headaches or they were being completely unreasonable.
After sales service I try to help out as much as I can, as I completely understand how troublesome sometimes from a customer stand point (I get annoyed by my own car issues too), putting in a few words here and there making things easier for the customer keeps them happy!

People are naturally attracted to what is familiar if its a good experience. I for one would show loyalty to the sales guy/team that made my buying experience enjoyable. Hell I've even paid more money (albeit negligible) to shops that I'd rather support. Its just like being a regular at a restaurant or bar.

I have met people that cheap out on $50 and end up driving cross town to do a deal...
then in turn tells me they had a shitty post sale experience when they come back for servicing.

Seriously the best place for deals is BJ. I deal with Khan (didn't know tofu worked at BJ) and got two new BMWs from him in August. There's no BS and the discounts are deep.

I've decided against leasing ($7500 interest over $30,000 depreciation, almost 25%)... Does anyone know when incentives usually roll around? Dealers claim they only have a profit margin of 8% but I find it hard to believe they would disclose their true margin. With that being said, do you think 8% off MSRP is reasonable at the end of the year?

That's why they charge you so many fees (finance fee, documentation fee) to make up for that.
They usually have more room to negotiate for pre-owned cars. At least that's what I was told.

Depends on what model you are looking for. I see $ off and interest rates incentives on the 3 series and a few other models now.

volume stuff/ bread and butter X1 / 3 series / some 4 series... and even X3....
jesus. what mark up. especially the 1 year old or younger units.
certified pre owned? same. dealer pays for the certification... and cuts quite a bit into the gross / mark up.
