Not sure if that's good CBC did an article on this, might push the loop hole to be closed.
I'm glad I have a corporate plan, this Manitoba plan shows perfectly how much we're getting completely ripped off by Rogers/Bell/Telus.
If a plan this low is sustainable, why are people paying $80-$100+ for equivalent.

Does anyone know if you can still get this plan if you're already on Koodo? Open a Manitoba line, get the plan and port it? Would this work? Or is there an easier route around this?
TIA

You start with the cheapest BC plan at the store then change it to a manitoba/SK plan and port the number over

If you're already on Koodo port out to Koodo prepaid first then on to the Manitoba number that you also have on your account.

I already have the Manitoba plan but it's the $55 with the 10% BYOD discount. It's grandfathered. I been on this plan for 2+ years. It is now $48 with no 10% BYOD. My only concern is if I am already with Koodo, would I get flag?
I already ported it once.
Also for the record, I got the Manitoba plan right from the get go first and then ported on my BC number.

I think its prolly been done like 3 times already at least... IF telus really wanted it closed, they would order koodo too.. but right now Telus is still sitting at 3rd spot in subscribers.. so they need all the subs they can get... Quote:

2) Ask for a MB # (Being Specific with city name helps) with the cheapest Month-to-Month (Post-Paid) plan (If they do not give MB#, get a local # for ON/BC/AB)
3) Do not insert the SIM into your phone (if you absolutely must, then you can use it, I recommend just completing the process first)
4) Go home, sign up for Self-Serve account using the same email address you provided them at sign up / log into your Self-serve account.
5) If you got the MB# then wait until next billing cycle (usually 4-9 Days -- can check online in your account*)
-- If you got a ON / BC / AB #, change your # online to a MB (Click on Self Serve -- Phone Services -- Change Number)
6) On 1st Day of your billing cycle log in to self serve account - Change plan to $48 MB (Click on Self Serve -- Phone Services -- Change my plan)
7) Wait 24 hours**, Port - In your #. (Click on Self Serve -- Phone Services -- Change Number)
If you cant wait just call up koodo to have them port for you or change to the MB/SK plan.. but it will cost you $20...

I wonder if anyone here actually reads lol

I am with Koodo already. Does this process allow one to switch to the MB number for the required time, then switch back to your old BC #, or will you be stuck with a new one?

Get a 2nd throwaway bc number (or Manitoba number if they offer it) on your account, go home switch it to a Manitoba number, get the plan.
Port your current bc number to prepaid and then port it into your Manitoba plan.

THIS IS the MB/SK plan.. they just made it available for AB and BC now.. LMAO
I dont have anyone to call to outside the Greater Vancouver Area...
with Fido, I can talk to my cousins in Hong Kong without paying extra... my normal data usage is around 2-3GB, so I think Fido plan is still a better deal...

According to rfd the data overage is $50/gb instead of $10 with the mb/so plan. Dealbreaker for me

I just completed the steps for the $48 MB 6gb with 1000 international minutes plan last week. And just a few days ago, they made a $55 Quebec 8gb with 1000 international minutes plan avaiable |
