live like 2 minutes away and will be taking my beater car there haha thanks!

yray 10-26-2015 09:39 PM

Place looks like vegas at night when you're driving by on rumble LOL

dared3vil0 10-26-2015 09:51 PM

My car is going to be so swirled by Dec. 1st. :lawl:

Gh0stRider 10-26-2015 10:11 PM

i drove by there on my way home tonight, and it looks pretty nice.

k3lv 10-27-2015 09:27 PM

I live so close, better not hear you ricers flying around for free car washes

Akinari 10-27-2015 09:52 PM

I've never taken any of the vehicles I've owned to these car washes. How valid are Shine's claims regarding touchless vs their technology that supposedly doesn't scratch the paint as much as high pressure touchless car washes do?

kkthind 10-27-2015 09:58 PM

these guys have the same thing as speed wash. Its gonna swirl for sure. I'd rather take my car to VIP auto spa and get the car cleaned inside and outside for $25. And its better quality too

Galactic_Phantom 10-27-2015 10:12 PM

^:rukidding: comparing a $25 detail to a machine wash (which happens to be free for the first month)

Traum 10-27-2015 10:19 PM

Thank you for saving me a good 20 min. Was gonna go check it out and get the car washed. But I guess I won't now since it isn't a touchless wash. :okay:

fliptuner 10-27-2015 10:33 PM

I should take my truck there. Zero fucks about swirls.

mk1freak 10-27-2015 11:01 PM

Should change title to free beater washes.

Most "detail" shops that do $25 car washes aren't much better.

I can't say I've ever seen any of those washes use the 2 bucket method, nor do they even rinse the wash mitt frequently. I've seen one particular shop in Richmond wash my entire car without ever rinsing their mitt.

Only difference a hand wash will give you is that it'll get to the hard to reach places like under door handles, rear license plate area (if it's recessed on your car).

However, you can't beat free. If you're just going to polish your car in the Spring anyways, why not save yourself a day of freezing your ass off outside and get a "good enough" wash for free? (or for $8 when they start charging)

Nov 3rd Shine Car Wash Meet.

we hard park and see who wants to swirl their car most.

(watch your rims. I curbed mine from the stupid rails @ shine on terminal)

Went to this today. Service was friendly and the facility was really nice.

Took my dad's van through it, his car was really dirty, came out pretty good. I don't really know about swirls, I'm sure there's tons.. but it's an old car, did the job, overall really happy.

No catch at all, there was a survey guy asking which city I lived in and where did I hear about the free car washes.

I'd probably take the old family cars there from time to time and offer my business. A+ A+, would wash again..

Just went there at 11pm. Dude working there was nice. Took my gf's car there so i didn't care about the swirls. That place is quite big lol

Careful on the way out of the machine, floor it's very slippery I had a bit of under steer doing less than 5kmh

I trying not to mention any names, but yes, that's the place I was referring to in my comment.

The thing that bugged me the most - the way to get out a stubborn stain is to soak it to soften the stain and give it time, not to rub harder with the grubby mitt.

dared3vil0 11-02-2015 11:45 AM

Went this morning- place is huge and quite nice, guy manning the wash was friendly, and it seemed to do a really good job surprisingly. Car was really shiny after, almost like a coat of wax. (I know probably super harsh chemicals, but whatever. My paint is so fucked from cone damage and rock chips)

LOOOOL it's good to hear I wasn't the only one to understeer at 5kmh...

Limitless 11-02-2015 11:47 AM

I don't mind mentioning any names, they have pretty bad customer service from time to time, they also broke the things I had on the dash of my car while wiping it down. I have no idea why they had to wipe it down so hard as to break anything, but when I talked to the owner he just told me that it's my own fault for having anything on my dash, and pretty much just told me to leave. Pretty shitty experience.

Volvo-brickster 11-02-2015 08:47 PM

my beater has never been cleaner...haven't washed it in over 2 years

and me too, while exiting i had the steering wheel at full lock and i was still going straight lol
