Finally its offical. Maverick signs with Yamaha.

Maverick Vinales confirmed at Yamaha

Honestly I'm more interested about next year's results than this year's. This season just seems... meh.

I'm pretty excited to see what Maverick can do on the Yamaha. Hopefully him and Rossi will make for a fantastic 1-2 punch. Go team Blue.

Yamaha already has the 1-2 punch with Lorenzo and Rossi. The problem with Rossi is that he's a perennial #2 and not the #1 punch (and really he's only got himself to blame)

What's interesting is the Lorenzo gamble which could lead to historic legacy changes within the sport. If he can bring a losing team to a win/championship, much like what Rossi did to Yamaha after leaving Honda, he stands a chance of elevating his legacy close, if not the same to Rossi levels.

I'm still never gonna like JL though. He may be a great rider and can win races but like Stoner, they both don't know how to win the people. Vinales though... looks poised to be not just a winner, but a likeable one as well.

What a CRUSHING weekend ...

1 - ROSSI TAKES POLE
2 - LORENZO PASSES ROSSI IMMEDIATELY
3 - ROSSI SUFFERS MECHANICA FAILURE AND EXITS RACE
4 - PHENOMENAL LAST LAP BETWEEN MARQUEZ AND LORENZ
5 - MARQUEZ, SURE-FIRE WINNERS, LIFTS THE FRONT END ACCELERATING TO THE FINISH LINE AND LORENZO PASSES AND WINS THE RACE

I'm not sure why all of that is in upper-case but it was an unbelievable finish.

he was doing some autograph signing/machine gun shooting/robot dancing shit LOL. i feel like vale could have won the race. usually if lorenzo doesn't start opening a gap after the first 6-8 laps then chances are he can be caught. last lap battle with marquez was pretty good though.

ROSSI!!!

TERRIFIC RACE!!!

Rossi was just a monster ... he fell into eighth place and then just assassinated every rider in front of him, one-by-one!

The duel with Marquez was incredibly exciting right until the very last lap!

I'm happy for Miller and his team but I take no joy in watching a race in dumping rain. It becomes far less about skill and more about luck and chance. I'm a little bitter, obviously, because Rossi crashed out but I'm not certain that they should have been racing in those conditions regardless, especially when you consider all the riders that crashed out immediately before Rossi.

I was just SCREAMING at the TV:

"BOX, ROSSI!!! BOX!!!"

I had a sinking feel that was reminiscent of last year at Misano. Tire strategy resulted in a well-deserved win for Marquez and Honda. After he switched to slicks, it was astounding to just watch him EAT the field alive!
