Those with FK8 R's.... weird question but I was hoping someone could help me out since no dealer will let me take one for an extended test drive.
Here in the GTA it's extremely muggy so I run the AC pretty much all the time. On my TSX my car feels noticeably slower when the AC is on. I have to rev it higher and the throttle response feels more sluggish. As if I'm driving with a shitty CVT (my car is automatic).
My buddy who is a red seal tech told me that 4-cylinder Honda motors don't produce much torque. So when the AC compressor is on, there is a significant feeling of power loss.
My question is, does the FK8 have the same issue? How's the performance of the car when the AC is on?
I know it sounds dumb but I really can't stand how warm it is here, and I don't want to shell out 50k to experience the same BS I have with my TSX...
Isn't this an issue not limited to the Type R, all cars have this issue.
Of course. But from my experience, cars that make more power have it happen to a point that it impacts performance less. I figure since the FK8 is 8 years newer and has more advanced technology, plus with significantly more power, it won't be so bad. But I have no way of finding out for myself.
I guess I should rephrase to say, does having the AC constantly on make the car feel significantly more sluggish and bogged down?

Since we are talking S2000 I have to share I saw an imola orange AP2 in Victoria on Sunday. Apparently 1 of 34 for North America. First one I have ever seen.
