Congrats! Oh so there won't be a minor refresh? Hmmm... I just placed a deposit for a 2019 CTR and estimated wait was Feb-Aug. Maybe I'll go for a 2018.

I also heard that there will be a volume knob.

That's what I had heard too, given the Sedan/Coupe is getting it. But the hatch/Type R changes may likely be coming in their 2020 model line up. The sedan/coupe came out a year before the hatch, so the timing of their mid-cycle refresh make sense.
I guess we'll see. My rationale was more driven on when the '19s were coming, now that I got that confirmation I will enjoy 6 more months of driving it vs waiting. My 2016 Accord has the exact same infotainment, and the lack of knob and overall functionality hasn't bothered me much.
Congrats OriginalJC. You must be "Andjoo" on another car forum... I distinctly remember seeing that badge # elsewhere!
My dealer in Woodbridge ON told me the same thing. No updates other than new color and volume knob for 2019. Plus I was looking at ~$2000 to maintain my TSX in the coming months. #18323 here!

Did you pick the one up from Surrey Honda OriginalJC? I was looking at that one earlier that same day but I went to White Rock Honda and put a deposit down for a used Black CTR

That was my friend's old CTR in Black. He owned it for 10 months 9000km and traded it last month.
I can let you know his traded in value if you are curious.
Hope you get a Good Deal on it.

This is from the 2019 Civic Type R accessory brochure (confirmed by two Honda employees).
Looks like they've downgraded the headlights on the 2019 CTR from full LED, to projector + halogen (high beams?) similar to the lower trim civics. And the side mirrors don't look to be color matched (hard to see, could just be the fake CF accessory for the mirrors). Otherwise, doesn't look like any fake vent changes.
I'm even more glad I picked up the 2018 :-)

has there been some sort of DOT law change that makes those headlights no longer legal?
