Be sure to install a proper header with 2.5" collector, I would go for the JDM 4-1 DC2R header if you aren't going to lower your car, if you lower get the Toda or J's 4-2-1 header as they both make great power but maintain ground clearance above the bottom of the oil pan. Toda header new is like 1700$ and J's around 1100$, you can find either used around 700$, JDM 4-1 250-400$ depending on condition and whether or not heat shield is included. I always run a cat, JDM 2.5" DC2R bolts up to you stock mid pipe. Beyond avoiding the nasty smell it also makes the exhaust sounds smoother IMO and if you run something loud like the Spoon N1 it also brings down the dB a bit. JDM DC2R cat can be had used all day for 100-150$. For a muffler I lean towards the Spoon N1, it sounds JDM as fuck with JDM 4-1 Header, JDM 2.5" cat, and stock mid pipe... it's loud but lovely. Around 500$ new for Spoon N1 muffler, should be no more than 300-350$ used IMO. This time around I am using Toda header, SMSP 2.5" Cat, JDM B pipe with the bottleneck removed after the cat flange (There is a 2.25" reducer in the pipe) and the Spoon N1 muffler. Friends don't let friends Buddy Club Spec 2. Doing catback only on DC2 is a bit of a waste, do the full meal deal and actually squeak some extra power out of the feeble B18C5. Alternatively just K swap :troll: |
^ running a jasma spec header(brand unknown) and a t1r test pipe |
The T1R testpipe is actually pretty nice as it's resonated. I had one for a while before I went with a hi-flow cat. That should mean that the header is 2.5". Aside from baller brands mentioned, the Yonaka(believe it or not) is actually quite nice. Stainless, 2.5" mandrel bent, good welds, good price(~$500), similar design to the Apex'i World Sport II so pretty quiet. Hytech is prciey and heavy(I run it). Sounds amazing though. Some split hairs with sound vs. diameter but I'd just look for something 63mm(2.5"). Some JDM brand are 60MM. |
^ have a yonaka on my EG and for $280 US, the 2.5" stainless catback is pretty damn good. Welds aren't perfect everywhere but such good value. |
JDM cat won't bolt up to stock usdm midpipe. It's 6 inches shorter and it doesn't have a secondary O2 bung. To make it bolt on you need to fab up and extention with an O2 bung. 98spec header > JDM cat> extention with O2 bung > stock length usdm mid pipe with 2.5in collector > stock axle back or spoon N1 depending on mood. I'd rather run stock exhaust then yonaka catback. Personal preference .. |

stock exhaust is good flow already with jdm 4-1. all those dollars for exhaust would be better off used on some cams and tuning for that car. |
If I'm not mistaken...JDM mid pipe is the same length as USDM mid pipe. The JDM cat is shorter but the JDM header makes up the extra length which puts the mid pipe to car flange at the same location. http://www.team-integra.net/sections...485a2cd9dd.jpg Top - USDM GSR I believe Middle - JDM ITR 98+ Bottom - Some race bull shit. |

Also, those "Recaros" look off... |
Those are either Recaro Speed or SR3, they are likely legit. |
painted roof mouldings? wtf |
Ya they look like usdm recaro speed not Oem jdm spec recaros. You know if he spend a little time restoring back to stock like untucking the harness , installing ps he could get a lot more. At this point a clean chassis counts for a lot. |

Edit:looking at some Google pics now and seems like some have longer top parts with smaller looking logo. Anyways, carry on late edit: SR3 has the short head, Speed has the tall head |
