First post on RS! Anyone familiar with this one? I’ve been eyeing it for a few weeks now and apart from having a high ownership count, I can’t see any immediate red flags with it.

What is high owership count?

If you mean mileage it only has 10k on it a year...

Looking at the Carfax, I count 5 listed owners on it. Granted, some are probably dealerships, though still wouldn't look good for resale value. Mileage is definitely average for the age.

That is one new owner a year. She's been around the block that is for sure lol.

Local car, dealer serviced, about 100 days of manufacturer powertrain warranty remaining. Looks good on paper, it's worth a look.

I don’t think dealerships show up as owners. Not a dealbreaker but why would an enthusiast car get bought and sold so much. If the dealer has any work history I’d look thru the paperwork to make sure it wasn’t a lemon

GIZZ 04-18-2022 09:04 AM

I didn't see the carfax. Does it say new owner reported? Or just registration issued or renewed?

Dealers do show up as owners. Also (side note) If someone leased a vehicle and then decides to purchase it after the lease is up that shows up as a new owner too despite it being the same person. This is due to the original owner being a manufacture and not the person making the payments.

A good way to guess if it is a dealer creating a "new owner" on carfax is if the vehicle then has another owner within 30-120 days after that "new owner". It typically indicates a dealer bought the car into their inventory and then sold it.

This happened with me with one of my CarFax reports. 3 owners listed, but it was a lease (1st owner) that was bought out by the lessee (2nd owner), then eventually traded in to the dealer (3rd owner). I became the 4th owner according to CarFax, but I see myself as the second owner.

With the Auto West Type-R, I'm guessing the car started its life as a lease, sold to OpenRoad Honda in September 2020 who wholesaled it to Coquitlam Chrysler in November 2020, then sold to a customer in December 2020. The last owner drove it until this February when it was sold to Auto West.

Sooo.. did you buy it? Its not listed anymore, just curious.

tofu1413 06-17-2022 08:51 AM

a bit smoother lines than the FK8.

looks like the rear wing may be adjustable too. a nice little evolution of the current car.

GIZZ 06-17-2022 09:06 AM

Until the boys in WWL get a hold of it to install the gps, rear wing and other Knick knacks.

JDMDreams 07-20-2022 09:53 PM

Looks way better than the current one, much more refined and doesn't have the stupid fake diffuser air outlet in the rear bumper, I like the widebody look
