James from ThrottleHouse posted on IG that it starts at $55,600 here in Canada. Seems like a pretty decent deal if it drives similarly to the CTR.

EDIT: Press release below - one trim level only.

looks like we got a better deal on these ITS than the US after exchange rate!

Anything over $60k CAD is absolutely mental!

Guess I’ll be refunding my deposit now lol, there’s so many better and high performance choices in that range.
Canadian pricing is a win compared to US! We get the car for the equivalent of 42K USD.

That is super bizarre. How can they justify it being basically a 30% discount up here? I will believe it when I see it.

Americans are gonna try to come up here and buy them lol....... not that they can succeed.

On that note, our freight and PDI is so jacked... $1200 in the US but $2600 up here? The fuck?

I wonder what the depreciation will be like for the ITS given the higher price point and more availability than the CTR.

My guess is that the price is based on the Japanese Yen. They don't set the CDN price by simply applying a conversion rate to the US price.

I think it's because people down south have more purchasing power so they are willing to spend more on cars in general (or dig themselves into debt). Most enthusiast options here like the Civic SI or Golf R are much better priced than the US, and sometimes with more standard/optional equipment.

I recall you trying to place a deposit on one - did you go through with it?

The Mazda 3 Turbo hatchback is the same.

It's around 40K CAD/29K USD on Mazda.ca

Same equivalent trim + an OEM front splitter and spoiler is 37K USD on Mazda.com

I'm in a Mazda group on Facebook and didn't know until people were talking prices. I always assumed pricing was similar across both the Canadian and American markets.

I did, $500 deposit... but the dude basically acted like it was not serious and kind of a joke... nice guy but yah especially when I mentioned I wanted to note that I prefer blue he was like yah you get whatever you get and it's gonna be like 3 years I guess they had like 50+ people already by the sounds of it.

Probably pull the plug because it sounds like the GR Corolla experience all over again... I don't want it bad enough to suck anyone's nuts.

That is pretty shitty considering it's only an ITS. Nothing special about it and not limited production run. I still wish the ITS came with a moonroof.

This is why Canada has 2-3 year waits for some cars that are widely available in the states (i.e. RAV4 Prime, most Toyota Hybrids, etc).
Each automaker has economists that work on shipping just enough cars to maintain market share / repeat sales / etc.

As the credit situation deterioates for specific markets and brands in the States (FCA/GM right now feeling it, Nissan soon), Canada will get more cars.
My predition is Acura/Lexus will soon improve their product mix (no more JUST A-Spec trims on RDX/MDX) and ship more cars again to west coast Canada.

Source: I know some Nissan product planners

That thing has been in 5 separate accidents, it has been broken into, and also vandalized. What a beauty.

I love how they originally just posted the US car fax that said it was clean. Is that automatic or is the seller a total scumbag?

So many claims, but they don't seem that significant aside from the first theft accident and the last collision accident based on costs?

Or maybe I'm just conditioned from the repair costs of modern cars, lol.

lots of claims but they are all minor. If it was a $10K deck on it, then I would consider it big damage for back then.

I went to Acura today to see if i could stand spending 60k on a CTR w/ leather (likely 5-6 years down the road at this point) to replace my daily camry.

It looks OKAY, like its not earth shattering gorgeous. Acura's design language isnt really my cup of tea and i think the FL5 actually looks better while saving $$.

The interior is decent for the most part. not worth the 60k price tag, but livable. I would say its basically a Mazda 3 quality (really says how Mazda has stepped up their game vs a dig on acura). The only real issue are the hard plastics touching your knees next to the central console. Seats are decent, no thigh extensions for 60k. Everything else is fine, just pricey for what you get.

Even this particular model the Aspec is already 55k and it only has the 1.5 Turbo.

When i adjusted the seats to my height requirements the backseats turn into useless shelves. Not possible to sit behind myself. I thought this new FL5 platform is bigger.

Engine bay is devoid of a vanity cover. I like that.

the coil, cam sensor and battery sensor wiring get chewed up by rats. I'm not talking once in a while, one day I saw 3 cars roll in. Now that you mentioned engine cover, I think that would help prevent some of the damage.

Wouldn't the rats crawl under the cover anyways? There's tons of space.

Both my cars had rodents nesting underneath the cover. Had to take them off the discourage them for living there. The covers do a good job keeping the heat in during the winters.

unfortunately it was on a street with cherry trees which means falling fruit everywhere in the late fall and a ton of seeds and poop in the engine bay
