With a stock ITR worth so much nowadays how can ICBC just hand over a cheque for like $12K if one gets written off? There is data to support the high prices and if ICBC isn't up on that then they are shit outta luck. Aren't you suppose to get what the car is worth in the open market at the time of a write-off? The idea is for an insurance company to give you enough money to replace the car that was totalled. If stock ITR's are worth over $20K well then that's what you would expect to get. Mods or not. Since ICBC only covers up to $5K in aftermarket mods and anything over that needs a separate policy you should STILL walk away with a big cheque due to the current market value. I'm surprise that they consider it the same as every other Integra.
ICBC tried offering my $16K for mine a couple years ago, I said fuck off, they approved the claim which was north of $10K for them and ended up being more like $14K after fuck ups. I'm slightly different in the sense that I'm under a Garage Policy which makes every vehicle "declared value". That means that as long as you have receipts showing that your $10K car is worth $50K then there's no problem.
Still though, Phat_R didn't wave a magic wand to get it done, he just talked to the right adjuster, explained him self and woolah!, a repair order was issued. Lucky for him the cage took the brunt of the impact which may saved the frame rails and shock towers from being tweaked.

Looks great, but the blades should be going the same direction.

Good catch! I will swap them around
Edit: As the tires are directional I have to take them back to Costco to get them to swap the rear tires left to right. Lame.

Type SH rims look better.
The RE-71's are amazing but they don't seem to wear that well.

I agree I picked up the wheels for $80 a while back so I can't complain.
Very sticky tire! It was a bit of shock hearing the rocks being picked up and the noise as they stick to tar strips. Also I have to relearn what revs to launch at.

having a/c on the J spec is a nice touch though.

Lets keep this thread alive! Any track days coming up? Weather is supposed to be good next week. Possibly a summer end meet?

When's everyone putting there cars away for winter? Usually the end of sept is when mine goes to hibernate.

Washed both of them on Saturday. Hadn't started one in about a year. After a quick jump it fired right up. Felt good to get them cleaned up. Right in time for Fall :P

| Jdm 96 Spec Honda Integra type R
I went to look at this one, It seems clean but the guy could only take me for a test drive around the block, 30mph under 3krpm and said he has never hit VTEC in the car ever . I said I would be ok to go through with the purchase after a pre-purchase inspection and he has ignored my texts.
Is asking for a pre purchase inspection not appropriate? (obviously I would pay for the inspection).
Edit: Does anyone know of any other local JDM Integras for sale locally?

Walk away
If it's a great deal I inspect myself to facilitate a quick transaction.
There is autox at Western Speedy Victoria Sept 18th and Oct 2nd. Blades are the right direction now so I will be even faster

Thank you for the advice, appreciated.
Its a shame that someone could potentially get screwed buying it.

Edit: Does anyone know of any other local JDM Integras for sale locally? | Always, always do a pre-purchase inspection. And I guess it's a bit of a waste with RHD cars if they were imported recently, but if it's a Canadian car (or just been in Canada for a while), get a Carproof report.
When I bought my ITR, I test drove it and got a pre-purchase done which included a compression test (and maybe a leakdown, can't remember).
