Velocity has two 2001 Integra Type R's coming in... I understand they are a business and they have to make money, but after looking at how much they purchased it at auction, I realized its much cheaper to just import one. The white one they have went for 525,000 Yen IIRC..
By my calculations (I could be wrong) but you could get this landed/tax paid for around $13500 , Its shocking how cheap the car is in Japan though $8290 CAD and you are almost paying double the price after Taxes/Import 2001 Honda Integra Type R | Vancouver Velocity Cars | Used Car Dealer in Burnaby

For the price for a DC5 Type R, I would choose a LHD Type S for less money and drive on the correct side of the road. Only time I'd consider a JDM car is if there were no LHD variants like the S15, or R32 - R34 etc etc etc
I'm not technical enough of a driver to tell the differences with the spindles and subframe measurement differences.

Thats a fair point and I agree with you.
I'm just frustrated about all the extra costs involved with importing and taxes considering the car was purchased for (8000-8500 CAD) half of what they are asking, obviously with taxes/import fees the price is always going to be higher they are a business after all, but double the price of the car is pretty steep don't you think?

But consider the following:
- Shipping cost is about 1400usd? I forgot.
- Duties when it enters Canadian port
- Auction house commission
- Port fees in Japan and Vancouver
- Provincial inspection (possibly a shady pass lol)
$300CAD car can be around $2500 or so. My numbers may be wrong though, it's been a while lol

or import a type-r and do all the legwork yourself
or import one with an agent
or buy one from a reseller you can see in-person and ready to be driven off the lot with all inspections/registration done
or perhaps even wait a year or two to see local classifieds pop up with one or three
plenty of options
I don't understand your complaint

I don't understand your complaint | If I understood correctly, his complaint is the high price resellers are charging.

You are bringing a car across an ocean into a market it wasn't made for. Sorry you can't put it in a fedex package for 49.99 but that's the way the world works.

Hardpark is life bruh.
Going to de-rice Kev's car, already have an OEM parts order going that is >20K.
Parting out most of the mods, whatever you are looking for off the car just PM kev, he will be selling off many of the parts on my behalf. I don't really care about getting much money back for any of it, so just make an offer, the lower the better, I just want it gone, so PM kev.

I think the jasonturbo logic would be: the last one was too mint to drive.
So he went out and bought a driver car.
