Taken from BAT ad: Although the included Carfax report shows no accidents, the selling dealer points out that the factory VIN tags are missing on the front fenders, front bumper, and driver’s door. The hood, passenger door, rear hatch, and rear quarter panels retain their tags. Based on inspection, it appears that the front and some of the side of the vehicle has been repaired/repainted, but no evidence of structural damage has been found. The selling dealer describes the paintwork on affected panels as a nice but not perfect, with the rest of the car presenting nicely. A small crack in the front lip is shown above on the passenger-side.

Can anyone school me on importing a LHD DC2 Integra Type R from Europe to BC Canada?

Approx cost of vehicle and cost to ship?

twitchyzero 10-23-2016 10:30 PM

USDM/CDM Is stupid expensive, and I don't drive RHD. i want another LHD ITR without spending 30k.

LHD R81 is the only reason to look at importing from the EU. I looked into it and the major cost is transport depending on what country you are purchasing from. Land transport to the port then boat transport. It got pricey pretty quick. I almost pulled the trigger on one in Belgium(I think) but then the dollar took at shit and that dream died. Other than transport, the other importing costs were the same as any 15 year rule vehicle.

I just picked up a 94 Accord manual coupe as a winter car. Could use some different wheels.

A few months back there were some 96 JDM ITR 4x114.3 wheels for sale dirt cheap on CL.

Anyone here have some they want to sell?

Suprarz666 10-25-2016 06:47 PM

^ah, those were mine. think i sold em for $100, got tired of flakers.

Heres one of the comments:

If this car is all legit and perfect no rust no dings no scratches what so ever in absolute pristine condition. . . I could see $15,000 maybe. :rukidding:

lol yeah.. that group is still living in the past in terms of pricing.

twitchyzero 10-25-2016 07:07 PM

I don't blame them
I would never pay over brand new sticker price 20 years later let alone a FWD Honda
upper teens is already a shock...$20K+ and it's like lol what is this, Vancouver real estate? I'll deal with RHD and buy a cleaner example for a fraction of the cost thanks.

I wouldn't pay that price as well, however there are people that do, and to them this is probably not even breaking their bank account. And I don't see a problem with this fwd Honda.

spoon.ek9 10-25-2016 09:07 PM

it's all supply and demand. it has nothing to do with what the product is. things are worth what people are willing to pay for it.

TouringTeg 10-26-2016 11:07 AM

I think inflation and lack of affordable replacements are driving up prices too.

Take for example this 2000 S2000, all stock, pretty average 104kms. $19,880 2000 Honda S2000 Convertible Victoria City, Victoria

The AP1 bottomed out around $10-12k or so and has risen from there. Honda has not come out with a replacement and so prices rise.

I think the air cooled 911 market is similar. People want that connected to the road driving experience. To get close to that you need a Cayman or a far more expensive GT2/GT3/911R. Suddenly air cooled 911s were bargains and prices rose.

As far as the ITR they are numbered limited edition cars and despite being a FWD Honda the driving experience is fantastic.

Iron Chef 10-27-2016 05:48 AM

Given all that it's still not $39k worth of car. I can't see myself paying more then $20k for one.

I bought my 1 owner 2001 with 50000km for $17k and I was close to my limit on what I was willing to pay back then and 10yrs later.

tofu1413 10-27-2016 09:03 AM

DC2 ITR is irreplaceable when it comes to a raw FWD track ready car....

So prepare to pay, when there are fewer on the roads year by year and fewer people willing to let theirs go.

It's just like the E30 M3.

TouringTeg 10-27-2016 09:32 AM

I wouldn't pay 39k CAD either for an ITR either. An American buyer might.

It's funny I had a limit in mind for what I wanted to spend for a 964 c2 manual coupe in 2013. There were a few for 25k. I remember thinking I can't justify spending 25k for such an old car that will need work. Then the supply ran dry and the same old car needing work is 60k.

tegra7 11-02-2016 09:20 AM

Rear end 4k dec, rough paint, burns oil won't take less than 9k

white rocket 11-02-2016 10:20 AM

So $9K and just keep the oil topped up? :considered:

TouringTeg 11-02-2016 10:30 AM

^ x2 at $9000 for LHD clean title someone should grab that.

My wife would kill me if I bought another one. :die:

wingies 11-02-2016 12:24 PM

So realistically what are we looking at to get that car in "mint" condition? An extra 5 or 6k on top to fix the body, rebuild the engine, etc? Even with another 10k put into the car isnt that a "deal" for a clean title ITR?
