^^^Agreed. The K series is a superior motor in many respects although I dislike the cable shifting. However, companies like K-Tuned and Hybrid Racing have nice shifter boxes that may better the shifting feel.

A K swap DC2R is a wicked combo and 300whp is not unobtainable with todays parts selections.

something about import ads that haven't even landed yet just rubs me the wrong way
I wouldn't pay more than 8k for a 96spec unless it's ridiculously clean/lowww odometer/has spoon/toda/mugen goodies.

^ probably a dealer cut key.

early cars didnt have immobilizers, so an EF style key will work if cut.

That was fast. Good price with the red interior.

The same seller sold that barn find ITR on Bat recently. There was / is a decent collection of ITR's in Ontario.

Was that the car that used to have the Mugen kit?
Just repaint it to white and sell it on BAT for like 30k.

Just for shits and giggles, let's talk about this car and what it would take to make it stockish and how much a comparable sold for on BAT.

Full sand down and repaint. Get rid of any sign of blue. I am guessing $3-5K?
Sell off the Spoon brakes and get reman stockers.
Look for stock suspension.
Would you leave it as JDM front end or make it USDM front end again?

I was quoted 6k plus tax no parts for respray and rear quarter rust repair. Plus you need new stickers $300 and other trim that breaks or is worn out

Car has a clean title right? I bet you could definitely make money on it if you put some effort and money into it, but I wouldn't put the time in to make 5k or so. It would be fun bringing it back to glory though if you wanted to keep it.

I would probably leave the JDM front and Spoon brakes. Paint it CW again and enjoy it. It will still sell for good money down the road.

Some cars that are tastefully modded will still bring in good money. A heavily modded single turbo 600 whp Supra TT 6 spd is still doing to do well even it was originally an NA auto

First and foremost, a chassis check is needed to ensure that there have been no collisions. A collision on a track would not show up on any accident check as there is no insurance. Once that has been established and that there are no major accident claims already on the car, throw at least $15k at it for a full restore. The amount of work that goes into a color change is astronomical although the bay is still original so perhaps the jambs and whatnot are still white as well. Who knows what's missing and needs replacing. What's the mileage again? 160k kms?

I dunno, if you own a body shop and put in your own work then yeah, perhaps a profit is possible. That poor car has been passed around more than a salty hooker.

Interesting about the Supra. That's crazy an NA auto converted to 6 spd TT will fetch enough to make the swap worth it.

If you planned on keeping the ITR, then that is different. But from a flipping POV, I kind of agree with Westopher. All that work to make $5K.

So say $6500 for respray and misc parts. Car cost $10K.
Sell the brakes for $1K and buy remans for $300.
Buy used ITR suspension ???
Buy used ITR correct wheels $400
Sell JDM Recaro's $1000
Buy correct ITR seats ???
Sell Mugen cluster ???
Buy ITR Cluster $250
