i won't judge. people hoarding oem type-r parts is not as uncommon as i first thought. i've seen ads for mint oem itr floor mats going for over $1kusd and i laughed... until they sold for asking

Hoarding. That's pretty much all I do. It's good to source out new OEM stuff now before it gets discontinued.

For Mugen and Spoon Sports stuff, it's first and second gen parts that are worth big $$$. People pay like $1500 USD for the gen1 horn button. $500+ for a gen2. 1st gen Mugen catback is worth quite a bit as well. The twin loop muffler, 4-2-1 header and intake are still available new so prices are just as expensive now retail as they always were. When certain parts are discontinued or changed creating a newer generation that's when prices rise.

I read yesterday that the OEM rear shocks are now NLA.

Those checkered mats though! I should have kept my spares longer.

Looks like these actually sold for who knows what price. BIN was $1550 USD

OG with the anodized lip. Nearly impossible to recreate with a refinish. Beyond stoked to find them, let alone in this condition.

you wait and give it time until they are cheap and outdated on the used market, then bury it in your backyard full of oem type-r spares until those kids who coveted them but couldn't buy one become grownups and start throwing insane amounts of money at you to re-live their dreams of yesteryear.

how is a 1997 double in its original msrp?

considering that you didn't drive it for 20 years you brought it brand new at 35g (that was how much it was brand new?). You can sell it for about 35g.

calculating depreciation in our dollar. inflation. and lose of interest not investing that 35g.

I dont get it no matter how you calculate you you are still loosing money. Ignoring all of the above you "break even"?

I was exaggerating on the current value. But prices are crazy considering a few years ago they were selling for $8-12k. I was lucky enough to pick up my 02 NSX in 2009 when noone was really interested in them since they were above $40k. But I also did sacrafice my 03 GPW mugen s2k with like 30k km for low 20's after being on the market for months. two sports cars isn't practical said the wifey......Bah! [emoji22]

Yes they are TL wheels. It has quite a few original parts included which aren't cheap to replace. Good candidate for those JDM 16" wheels posted on CL

Spoon DC2 cluster is $2500+ for 96 spec (98 spec would be over $3K)
Spoon EK9 cluster is $3500+
