Perhaps the owner of Renn and the owner of SR traded cars to give the optics of a different seller for those that have been looking at the car the whole time it has been for sale. The 1999 looks like it has been photographed near the Bridgeport area for that recent CL ad which is near SR. Just a thought.
A 1998 and 1999 CDM ITR are identical, just FYI. All of them came with the leather red stitch knob and VIN decals throughout as mentioned above. It still has the USDM header as you can tell from the center bulge below where the dip stick goes. This car had an Autopower installed previously so I'd be curious about the holes in the floor and how they were dealt with upon removal. Yes, it does look like there is some sort of dent on the right side in the spare tire well. I wish Renn still had their pictures of it on their site so we could compare. Perhaps that is a warning bell in itself.
I still love that 1996 DB8R and wish I could snag it just for shits'n'giggles. It drove like new and is in impeccable condition. No expense spared. Paint job is on point, JDM 16's are refinished to new, Recaro bolsters redone to new, etc.

is it just me or did the ITR hype wane a bit?
looks like prices aren't astronomical as last year or even earlier this year
or people realize they won't always get BAT USD equivalent for their avg condition vehicles? this was before CAD started climbing recently
maybe those with disposable income said fuck it and put a deposit on the CTR instead?

^Many still have a hard on for these cars. I am currently in the market for a clean and low mileage CW, willing to pay in the 30k range for the right one.

There is a handful of people out there with high mileage in fair condition ITR's that are expecting to get 25-30k. That ain't going to happen.

Didn't realize we had at least two people here hunting for a low mile clean CW. They don't change hands very often. I saw one quietly posted on Honda tech last year and it was sold in days.
The market has been flattening for other 90s/00s future collectors as well such as air cooled 911s. Possibly due to buyer fatigue.
ITR is a strange market. They are very fun to drive and own and yet the entry price was never that high. Clean ones stay with owners a very long time.
In case you guys are curious about how many are on Vancouver Island I am aware of three including mine. One PY in Victoria recently back on the road. It was sitting for years in a garage with a blown motor. The third is a member here with a modified 2001 CDM.

Originally Posted by twitchyzero is it just me or did the ITR hype wane a bit? | I have also noticed that. Not all buyers like the idea of buying in Canada and shipping it to the US to capitalize on their strong dollar. All the action and hype is in the U.S. with only a handful of buyers in Canada. Prices have dropped at bit and have kind of evened out across the board. The RHD JDM ITR hype will continue to build up until 2021 to be eligible for the 25 year import rule. I'd almost like to snag a few 96 specs for under $10K CAD and flip in a few years for hopefully a nice profit. Our dollar is gaining strength now too (yay, I can buy parts again. lol) so that won't help exporting hopes for sellers here. I think the big price increase has already happened and now they will even out and stay similar for the next 5 years or so. As they approach the 25 years old mark they will see appreciation again much like the E30 M3 but perhaps not to that level.
A friend has a 2001 PY with 21,000 original miles for sale (loosely) for $35,000USD. He is the OG owner too.
Here's how mine now sits (for those that don't follow me on IG and apologies for potato pics). Just had a brand new OEM b-pipe and muffler put on along with a JDM valve cover, new spark plug cover and all new hardware. Now begins the slow road of reconditioning to new. Replacing each nut and bolt one by one over the years. I'd like to be part of the Japanese Classic era once 2025 hits and show it at the concourse level as showroom stock with some OEM JDM parts. |

Anyone in this thread checking out the 1999 rennsport ITR, current owner says he has 2 people coming to look at it saturday. He likes to say it has no accidents and the fenders are just painted and thats why the vin tags are gone but bumper, and both fenders have no vin#'s so they have obviously been replaced.

do you still keep tabs on where the one you sold is now? i think it was a 99 with jdm front near stock that you listed here a number of years ago...i think it was 15k damn what a steal in retrospect

I'd like to see the Carproof. If it shows a squeaky clean record it is a still a low mileage near stock 99 CDM ITR. No 6.1% duty, shipping (or travel expenses), and no USD currency.
I would value it higher despite the lack of vins on the fenders and bumper. There are only so many NA ITR's left out there. 25K
white rocket see you at the shows in 2025. Mine won't be concurs quality but I have my OEM wheels refinished and in storage along with a small stock pile of OEM parts like 01 OEM floor mats (thanks Jasonturbo), exterior OEM stickers, etc.

Rennpsort Itr if anyone can pick it up for under 25k and sit on it i still think it's worth it. Still pretty clean interior and condition and not worn out.

if JDM value here haven't gotten better in the past 6 years...what makes you think America would be any different | I was thinking that potential buyers who are currently shying away due to the risk of confiscation would be more inclined to pursue a purchase it they were federally legal, thus increasing demand. If they're worth $14K USD now it's possible that those values will increase once that risk is eliminated. I also think that the U.S. market goes bananas for RHD vehicles to the point that they convert Civic, Integra's, etc whereas here the RHD cars are looked at as a cheaper way to get what would be quite pricey in a LHD variant. Add the current ITR hype to those items and there is potential for profit. A gamble nonetheless though. Quote:

It is pictured above. I listed it for sale back in 2009 as I thought it was time to move on. It didn't sell, then a tent fell on it, so once it was repaired I decided to have the motor built.

did R32 values go up since becoming legal Stateside? That should give you a good indicator
would still probably make more sense to import themselves from Japan in 2021+
ah, went through the hassle of undoing the jdm front?

Yes R32 GTR values went up quite a bit. There are lots of US importers bringing them in directly from Japan. US buyers can get a reasonable deal in Canada with the USD still highish. https://seattle.craigslist.org/searc...yline&sort=rel
OEM ITR wheels for sale by a member here: https://www.revscene.net/forums/7133...ml#post8861784
JDMAccord would you be willing to share more info on your 2000 ITR? I can't recall seeing details on it. Nice collection of cars! There is an owner of a 2001 CDM ITR in Vancouver paired with a LHD 6spd Supra TT. I like how people keep the ITR in their collection.
