Mine has a couple extra holes there as well. It was a popular spot to mount an aftermarket alarm siren.

Seller bought it from Rennsport. He discovered that the bottom end has low compression pistons, there are holes in the front bumper support indicating a previously installed intercooler, and rubber plugs were used to fill in the roll bar holes. I think that's all that was mentioned. The car is apparently nice otherwise.

How did you figure that out?
Even with low kms I guess it's still always best to have mechanical inspections done no matter what

Still a decent buy if it has the original motor and tranny. A oem rebuild on the motor would bring it back up. I saw the Carfax before on this car it's clean.

He may not have known at the time. He had a shop put a camera in the combustion chamber and discovered the shape of the domes. The holes in the front bumper support triggered that. It sounded like the transaction between him and Rennsport was not very transparent. He trusted them but didn't do any due diligence beforehand on his end. Curious how many others may have discovered that info and perhaps that is why it sat for sale for so long.

Agree at $15k it would be a good buy considering a motor rebuild is required and evidence of past mods are permanently present. But then again if your looking for a nice track beast....

All ITR's need a safe home. The prices they are going for in the market in all different conditions with the right owner the car will be in good hands and shine in the future. Regardless of what they are worth now or later I think the real gravey of owning a Itr is ownership and being able to connect with it every weekend when the roads are clear and it's just you and ur Itr.

I agre however what some people are asking i as a buyer expect a good product. Yes I am paying a premium but I'm not a sucker that is gonna buy a car for a premium and then it needs $5000 in repairs

No doubt you can only sell what the market will absorb and if your price is out to lunch you will know it soon enough. Seems like a good time to get into a Itr though with the fk8 Ctr in demand. It does entices prospcect Itr buyers into that market

Honestly a bit surprised I'm not getting more interest in my RHD Type R at the price I have priced it at. Am I pricing it too high? Any opinions?

https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/rch/...295377124.html

Bought it in spring this year intending to track it and I've put some money into it to make it a reliable track car and its exactly what I got this year.

I've tracked it at Ridge without issues in the advanced group at TSS/Revscene track days and have no issues in keeping up with S2000s driven by similar driver level and mods. For people that are familiar with Ridge, this car ran a sub 2 minute lap time there.

This car far surpassed my expectations with absolutely 0 issues on track over 3track days. Keep your eye on the oil levels and this thing just keeps pounding on lap after lap in 30 degree weather. STIs, Focus RS, Fiesta STs are having issues with oil and water temp but no issues with the DC2. (I did install an oil cooler)

I bought a E46 M3 thinking its a better drivers car. It's not.

Think if it doesn't sell in a few more weeks I'll just keep it and keep tracking it next year.

Maybe some better pictures on the OEM wheels will help.

I hate to say it but RHD is always a tough sell (I have a RHD Supra TT). Collectors prefer cars from their country and there are plenty of people who just don't want to deal with driving a RHD car in a LHD country. Your price is not bad. Here is a comparable RHD S2000 for 10k. Lower kms close to stock and hardtop included. http://www.usedvictoria.com/classifi...0-RHD_30665326 (Note this guy sells a lot of RHD cars).

The ITR makes a great track car so it might be worth enjoying it until it is 25 years old in 2021. I will be trying to sell my Supra again Feb 2019 and mine is eligible for export to USA.

I haven't driven an E46 M3 to compare but I am curious to hear more. Did you buy tofu's silver 6spd coupe with 352kms? The previous owner of my ITR picked up an E46 M3 cab as well.

Thanks for the suggestion. I got some nicer pics and I updated the ad with it now.

No, I bought a 04 E46 M3 from Alberta from my buddy with 148k km. The car is actually on CL as well and I'll keep whatever doesn't sell.

Don't get me wrong, the E46 M3 is a great car, but its not as involving and mechanical as the Type R. The E46 actually understeers quite a bit on its stock setup, unless you really prod it with your right foot to get power oversteer, you're getting understeer. Its a safe setup for street driving I suppose.

It is a better daily driver than the Type R in terms of refinement, such as noise and vibration. But I actually find the Type R stock springs w Konis ride comfort to be slightly better than the E46 M3.

The throttle response from the Type R is better than the E46 M3 as well, the DBW on the M3 filters out a bit of the response. Putting it in sport mode sharpens it up, but I'm old school and prefer a cable throttle. Give me one good setting and don't let me play with it, same as suspensions, I hate new cars with adjustable steering, suspension, throttle. etc.

It might be a personal preference thing, but as a drivers car, I think the 90s car is at its peak. I also own another 90s M car and I prefer that over the E46 M3.

It'll probably go if it's in the 6 to 7k range, rhd and 96spec aren't really what people are looking for
