A local 98 CTR owner just got some red DC2 Recaros posted on insta this week. A backup set as he already has the same seats installed. They were in Vancouver. Sold in hours and he was on the ferry to get them the day.

Type R parts at good prices still sell fast.

New benchmark sold for $55k CAD with buyers fees etc.
Low mileage unicorn.

If you missed out there is a nearly new AP2 up next 3300 miles!

white rocket 06-05-2018 11:23 AM

^^There was also this one for the same money last year: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...egra-type-r-8/

As much as I'd like to capitalize on these prices and sell mine, I'd need about $150K to replace it with a worthy vehicle. Therefore, I'll stick it out with my over-hyped rice machine :wiggle:

I am holding my breath for Phoenix Yellow....

I saw a Rallye Red one today at Hunt Club Honda in Ottawa. There was also a Championship White one on the showroom floor. Salesperson said that neither car was spoken for and was for sale. Didn't ask for price as I was just stopping by to grab some ATF for my TSX... no need to get tempted lol.

Dixie Honda near my place in Mississauga also had a black CTR on their lot. Salesman saw that I was interested and said it would be "no problem ordering one". He seemed to imply that the car would be sold at MSRP as well.

Makes me wonder. Is the Civic Type R hype just a BC thing? Or because Ontario is a bigger province they get more of the allotment of CTRs?

twitchyzero 06-11-2018 08:55 PM

no one in their right mind should be paying mark-up on the FK8 Type R right now
it's not a limited production vehicle
only those blue-balled for nearly 20 years waiting for a new Type R in this market did as of last year...I don't believe anyone is waiting for an extended period ordering one today

oldsnail 06-11-2018 08:57 PM

i know there was black ctr at mini vancouver.. the new owner paid over msrp.. and it was used

current production number is in the 16xxx for the CTR in the 2 years, world wide

^ Saw the pics of his build on instagram. The engine was dropped out to paint the engine bay.

320icar 06-11-2018 09:48 PM

Why wouldn’t you just wrap it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Jmac 06-11-2018 09:55 PM

Looks pretty sweet in yellow, but feel the wheels don't really go with it.

twitchyzero 06-11-2018 10:01 PM

not feeling that...I think CW and PY works better on the older models
the red and black seems like a better fit
what I want to see is for them to bring out that brushed aluminum look they had on the concept

white rocket 06-12-2018 07:38 AM

^^^the polished metal color is easily the nicest color available that I've seen (in pictures). Only available in the U.S. now though :(

Groot 06-12-2018 10:00 AM

Wait you can get that brushed aluminum color in the US or are you talking about the grey metallic color?

white rocket 06-12-2018 11:47 AM

The U.S. has 5 color options with Polished Metal Metallic being one of them. White, Black, Red and Blue are the other four options.
