No. You can't just do this... There are so many steps, way too many to list here. You really need to use google and call US Customs and ask them, they're going to go to town on your ass at the border if you try this ish the way you're describing it.

Make the buyer import it. That's normally how this goes.

Buyer can't enter Canada for some reason

Lol. This is such a retarded idea on so many levels. :lol

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you're just naive. Go read up on CBP and you'll realize it isn't as easy as driving across the border.

Hint: He's a criminal/has a record that's why.

Pro tip of the day: If you don't lose your car to US Customs trying to illegally import it into the United States, sounds like chances are high you will then lose your car when he steals it / pays you with a bounced cheque.

The fact that it was originally from the US doesn't make the process any easier. There are Federal and State laws dictating what flies and what doesn't. Taxes could come into play, inspections, compliance, etc all must be in order with paperwork. A solid search should give you the required steps.

If I was trying to illegally import the car why the hell would I come here and ask...

I am here to ask for help and I am providing what information I have that might be relevant to importing the car to sell... BECAUSE MAYBE someone on this car forum might have experience with this and can help guide me through it instead of being a smartass
