Fog lights stopped working
Sun roof doesn’t open
Back up camera doesn’t work

Touch screen head unit freezes on occasionally when Starting the car
USB slot stopped work (USB stick is fine, works great on my new car)
Everything slowly stopped working after the warranty period.
Not to mention that beautiful 2.4 engine that had multiple recalls and still there is a lawsuit over engines blowing up.

New tranny, new head unit under warranty. New DRLs under extended. They were willing to do the work but it's not great considering it wasn't a 1st year car.
Engine's been not as smooth in the last 2 years but the car is worthless on trade in so my dad is just going to drive it into the ground.

Took delivery of a Model X CPO today from Tesla
We thought that with the pandemic, we'd just stick to our Model 3 until the Cybertruck comes when we sold our last ICE in the summer (it got a whopping 300km of driving from March to June)
However, we miscalculated as ever since the restart of kids' school, we have run into several occasions that we came in really tight (arriving barely in time to pick up the kids, or had to change our schedule altogether to make it work) or had to rent a car for a day. With another year or two until our Cybertruck, it just wasn't working too well.
We also vowed that we'd stick with EV (except for exotic toy car... if ever) ever since we took delivery of our Model 3 as our lil personal effort for the environment... however little that is.
Then a very good deal popped up on the Tesla site on a clean (no accident) 75D and we took it. A tad high on the mileage (just past 90k), but nothing to pick really. And the price (low 60s) was lower than anything I could find online for similar car.
When we finally saw the car today, we were pleasantly surprised that it got a brand new set of tires as the previous owner (it was a lease according to Carfax/Tesla record) returned it with winters. (it was noted in the inspection sheet).
The battery looked good too with barely 6% of degradation at full charge. Not sure if it had anything to do with the fact that it might have been originally a 60D (soft-locked 75D), even though the only clue to that fact was the little bag they used to hold the keyfobs said 60D on the model.
Overall, quite happy with the purchase and kids were super psyched about finally having THE falcon wing door. When they first saw our model 3, which we just told them we were getting a Tesla, they kept asking where were the falcon wings doors.

^^^ how's the warranty on cpo? I thought it was always not worth it to get used Tesla cuz the residuals were crazy high. And you get gov discounts when you buy new. Did you buy cash? Or get a really high used finance rate?

CPO on Tesla usually carries the remainder of the 4yr/80k warranty plus an additional 1yr/20k.
Mine was just past the 4yr mark, so only an 1yr/20k warranty and the remainder of 8yr/unlimited drivetrain/battery warranty (4yrs remaining)
The financing rate is the same special rate Tesla arranged with RBC/Scotia... mine was 2.15%/60mth... so, not incredibly cheap, but certainly not bad either.
While taking delivery, I was talking to another gent taking a delivery of another X... he's basically in the same situation as mine... waiting for CT but needs a car to bridge in between. And from our sales specialist, apparently that's what many Model S/X CPOs are selling to... people who are waiting for the CT and wants something in the time leading up to it.

^Interesting how many of you had bad experience with Hyundai. Granted I never kept them too long.
But had about 40,000KM on my elantra before letting it go, absolutely nth went wrong on that one, and I drove it pretty hard.... will wait for warm up, but would spent alot of time in the upper rev range, and had full coils and 235R18 RE71Rs on an elantra... lol
Just had my ioniq for 2 years now (Dec 2018 purchase), same thing, no problems so far, but then again it only has 20,000KM... When I was shopping around for a hybrid, the Hyundai was about $4000 cheaper compared to the equivalent Prius, and Toyota wanted something dumb like 4.9% APR financing, while Hyundai was 0.9% with my royalty dropped to 0.6% APR...
And with my own app milage calculator (fuelio on android), my ioniq was getting consistent 3.2-3.5L / 100km in summer, 4.2L/100KM in the last month when it got cold.... so yea

Anyone recommend an electrician in the surrey area that can install an electric charger for garage? I read that getting a simple NEMA 14-50 plug is easier than buying the tesla charging device.

Either way, not sure what your plan is... but I remember there's a BC EV charger rebate offered by BCHydro that pays up to 50% of the cost of charger+install to a max of $350. Check on that for the best deal? I installed a NEMA 14-50 plugs, but that's because the rebate wasn't available at the time. If I were to do it today, I'd sure look into that because for the NEMA 14-50, I needed minimal distance as the plug is literally next to breaker panel, and even in this case was still a few hundred bucks for parts/labours. And it wouldn't qualify for any rebates. So, might as well get $350 from BC gov't.
If you aren't a Tesla-only EV adopter, you can always go with one that uses J1772 and charges pretty much any EV at lvl2. If you are, like in my case, the Tesla charger can also be part of the rebate I believe. Check with Tesla/BCHydro for the specific details. I saw a few posts on local Tesla owner club and they just went with a Tesla-certified electrician to install theirs and got the rebate.

like samsung appliances
killer tech/features for price, something major goes few years later
Kia supposedly dropped 6 spots this year, Niro EV scored only 18%
then again Tesla model Y is at 5% |

Im surprised of all the problems you guys had with Hyundai. I bought a ex rental 2018 Sonata back in march and have been driving the shit out of it (37000km in less than a year). So far its been absolutely awesome. Good fuel economy, peppy, standard features are awesome, steering is buttery smooth (same with the tranny).
Pretty happy with it. I bought it at 33000km and now its nearing 70,000km.

Mostly cosmetic issues, so not as bad as it looks.......... I guess?
Tesla owners please chime in?

Tesla has never been known for the best quality, but the cars themselves are robust. According to a friend that works at service, most people that come in complaining about the little things of how trim is not on right or door is not aligned rather than the car's not working. In all, if you're going to buy an Electric car a Tesla is the one to buy. Put a Leaf or a Kona next to the Tesla is like putting a Galaxy S5 next to a fancy shiny new iPhone. Not saying others aren't great but they are behind in overall tech.

The biggest issue with Tesla as a whole is that they rush the cars out the door as soon as they show up and there is very little pre purchase inspection by Tesla employees to fix these issues before they get to the customers. If they had this extra step in place a lot of these issues would never be seen.
