It's way ahead of our '10 Suzuki Grand Vitara tech, convenience and comfort wise, so hard to complain.
I'm sure there are lots of other options that are better in this way or that, but I was sick of dealer games and waiting. Most competitors were a decent jump cost wise. We drove a rental Bolt EUV in California and it's a big step down (size wise of course as well).

Volvo, and I think therefore polestar, announced they are joining the NACS bandwagon.

Outside the lower mainland, when you go into the Interior (even places like Kamloops) and smaller towns ... you see a lot less EV's. Maybe you all knew that but I think the infrastructure in smaller towns is just not there to support EV's. I mean here in 604, every 2 to 3 car is that potato shaped Model 3.

Some of the buttons don't have any backlighting at night so you can't see them. Every time you get in the car there's a warning screen on the car that won't turn off unless you press a button. The list goes on but the software mostly would make me sell the car if it was mine.

The caveat was a 2016+ trade in required. Unfortunately they don't have a trade (they are keeping their '07 minivan as a hauler).

I call BS on Dark being able to sell a ioniq 5 luxury at MSRP with doc fee only.
All the other stealerships either pill on useless add ons (e.g. $1,500 paint protection package) or require trading in a 2015+ vehicle.
Just stick with Tesla.

But that redesign is coming out for the model 3 shortly. Pretty sure that’s why they clearing out both the 3 and the Y right now (more on the 3).
If not in a rush maybe just wait and see.

One dealer said they go down the waitlist and just ask for offers over msrp without even setting a markup.. lol

Trade-in is basically a very elongated and elaborate mark-up when you think about it Give you a much lower than market price for your used vehicle and re-sell it for a significant profit.
I get it though, there's no inventory at places for used cars. I'm also stuck myself trying to get a new car because my newest current car is a 2004 and there's no way I'm trading anything in.
It's half tempting to go find a great deal on a newish car you don't even like or have an interest in and try to buy it for close to trade-in price just to have something to trade in lol!

Nowadays I just tell my non-car friends / family to get a Tesla over other EVs since the sales process is transparent and easy. I don't want my clueless auntie friends feeling ripped off at traditional dealers and coming back to me with grievances.

Just stick with Tesla. | Vehicle sold, actually $180 below the Hyundai.ca pricing... The trade is decent, no where near the 10K mark up, not even half that.
The trade was an HRV, we offered the client a price that was $600 below of what Honda offered them 2 weeks ago and Honda didn't have a car to sell them, they were trying to buy back their car. So yea, told the client our trade in is on par with the rest of the dealers and yet your Ioniq 5 is actually below MSRP by $200.00
No hesistation, the whole deal was done under 10min from the write up.

Those fuckers said they weren’t gonna strike because the US side of things reached a tentative agreement. But I guess they gonna strike anyways because fuck you, want more money.
Whatever it’ll be sorted out shortly. Either legislated back to work or we’ll concede like always and give them more money

As expected, Polestar is going NACS. Gives me a little more incentive to consider a P2.

Seems like a snowball effect. And the more companies that buy in, the more it will be THE standard.
If anything, consider TSLA. Even if their car sales slow down or plateau, they have the new pipeline.

And VW is in talks with Tesla to adopt NACS for their N.America-bound vehicles now. And I've read somewhere that SAE has now switched its stance on NACS, and will standardize NACS.
Honestly I am glad N.America is rallying around NACS. It is good for everyone to agree on a single standard, esp when that standard is the technically superior one too.
