everyone that i know that has a tesla all have little problems here and there. However none of them left them stranded or in any danger, just annoyed.
Im disappointed that after all these years of model 3 production, they still have these issues. Pretty sad given how much they cost.

The Hummer EV has 246.8 kWh battery
My prime has 8.8 kWh battery

yeah but i don't know how much of that is just because you're a die-hard fanboy and willing to overlook these things, or you drove a chevy nova before and it constantly broke.
Dark's situation isnt rare or unheard of; it's quite well documented for most of these issues. It's just whether or not you can stomach them.

I wouldn't go so far as to say i'm a tesla fanboy, more of an EV fanboy but I do like the Tesla Model 3, it's easily the best car i've every owned. I'd love to own a Rivian or a Lucid but until other companies can actually sell cars with the NACS plug, there's no point in getting anything other than a Tesla as their charging network is the biggest selling feature for their car. So much so, we are going down about an hour south of Seattle for a week and are taking our Model 3 instead of the ID4 as the Supercharger network is far more reliable and easy to use. The ID4 would be more convenient though as we could put more in it but we cannot rely on the Electrify America.

Picked up the car on Feb 3rd - 7,900 KMs later... the stories about the built quality are true...
My rear trunk speaker went in May (mobile service appointment took care of it)
My front passenger TPMS just stopped working last week(this I have to bring the Tesla into a service center, booked for next Monday)
And yesterday... my rear passenger door refused to open (you can hear the latch open, the window will drop, but for the life of me, the door just wouldnt open)... a Google search shows that it is a common issue WTF? Trim will separate from the door and it will get caught in the mechanism... (so I added that into the service appointment Monday)...
Sure... everything is free and under warranty... but holy ****, I don't remember the last time any cars (new or used) gave me so many weird issues.... yes, all my cars before has been JDM, but WTF is this crap... its less than 8,000KM, that's less than our first service interval... and shit keeps on breaking.....
No way I am keeping this beyond warranty, Wife wants out now... that's too bad... I was juggling the idea of getting into the Y Performance eventually, but judging from le wife... don't think we will get another Tesla....
sorry just wanted to rant... the car is AWESOME when it works.... | Recently my front passenger seat belt buckle started to malfunction, software wise and a bit of internal hard ware.
Fixed under warranty, instead of just replacing the buckle, the entire seat got replaced
Another most recent issue was my heater core crapped out, apparently also another common issue.

The only real issues i've had were on my 2018. The turn signal stalk needed to be replaced and the driver side lower control arm needed to be lubricated. Otherwise, both cars have been fairly trouble free.

man... i am also a Tesla fanboy I think... but maybe I have just been lucky...
My own EVO was perfect, other than the parts that are modded and non-oem
My miata was perfect, never missed a beat
My parent's Rogue... yes, the CVT was dieing at 260,000KM but otherwise nth broke...
My inlaws RAV4...140,000KM, nth has broke
My elantra had no issues, though it was only a 30,000KM ownership
My ioniq hybrid also had no issues, again, this was a 18,000KM ownership
My prime.. now at 27,000KM had 0 issues
Like have I been just super lucky? No rando part failing other than the modded parts of the EVO and 240 I had, no weird annoyance here and there, every car that we kept stock had literally been nothing out of routine maintenance, yes I keep my cars and my family's cars on schedule for all maintenance... but yea... literally nothing...
and now this.... 8000KM of constant small things here and there....
I don't want to be biased... but man....

Don’t buy a ferrari or a maserati then. They are the teslas of the exotic car world. Little things fail and they fail at an alarming rate too. Ever had your heated seats catch fire ? Surprise !!! Sun visor becoming floppy and loose ? Yes that’s normal.

I don't want to be biased... but man.... | I think it's reasonable to think the Tesla hasn't performed well. Every car has had problems but they were at easily 10x the mileage.... except for our Mini Cooper.
93 Camry - head gasket went at 180k and it was a well known issue on the 3VZ-FE. The trunk seal needed to be replaced at 140k.
03 Highlander - Power steering pump died at 140k, that's it
09 Mazdaspeed3 - rear main seal seeped at 60k which was covered under warranty, one of the wires in the loom for the injector broke which took awhile to figure out, and a coil pack died at 110k.
16 Mini Cooper - POS thing always had something broken, but never left us stranded
06 Miata - Nothing
18 M3 - Squeaky door seals replaced with a TSB - so far nothing else.
19 X3 - Climate control knob rubber ring was unseated from factory fixed under warranty. Rear diff seal seeping at 35k, replaced under warranty.

man... lol... still free... but lol, at least the guest service lounge wifi was fast lololol | Ya you got a lemon. 2 years of ownership with no issues other than driver seat motor noise and a couple of paint blemishes which were fixed under warranty, i also have aftermarket suspension, aftermarket fog lights and a 1200 watt amp running off the penthouse. No issues so far knock on wood.

There were some minor discounts on the Model Y for Metro Vancouver, but got snapped up quickly for existing inventory.
Discounts were almost $2400 bucks when you add in a referral discount too.
But our eastern counter part has seen discounts upwards of $5000 off.
This is regarding the base Model Y

There are a few new price points for existing Model Y inventory, prices listed before delivery, taxes, and rebates. I've been observing it myself and they go within a matter of minutes or clicking refresh once.
$56390
$55160
$57610

Just test drove this quad motor beast. The sound of the motors are different than Tesla. The tone has a low and high pitch that is maybe 25% louder than a Tesla permanent magnet motor. But when you go WOT with this thing, oh baby! [emoji23]
Interior quality is proper with the pricing of the vehicle. It’s a very nice place to be for trips and back seat occupants get a theatre view, being a tad higher than the front. The suspension deals with Vancouver Gas Town very well. It feels like you’re driving high but still with good body roll control so you don’t feel like dying if you come in too quick.
Overall it was a great experience.

Overall it was a great experience. | The pricing on the R1S doesn't seem so bad when I look at its competition - the upcoming R2S will probably end up being pretty competitive tool (and the right size for me). I'll have to go check out the Rivian store at Brentwood on Tuesday.
I test drove a NX350h and a CR-V Hybrid yesterday - other than funky brake feel the cars are remarkably normal and good. The sad trombone/dying cat sound of the 1.5T/CVT combo is gone with the Hybrid setup and it was perfectly adequate in terms of power. The Lexus was not as floaty/boaty as I expected but definitely smaller than I expected - the price felt a bit shocking though $75k+ for a nicely equipped one out the door, it didn't feel like a $75k kinda car.
