The mild hybrid on BMW/Audi doesn't seem to do much BUT if the system in the Porsche works half as well as the one in Ram, start stop will be incredibly smooth and the performance off the line is REAL
Hybrid Tacoma getting 24 city/30 highway/27 combined
F150 gets hybrid gets 25 city, 26 highway, 25 combined
that's like less than 10% difference lol
Tundra Hybrid gets 20/24/22 combined for 437hp/583lbft
Not only is it down on the F150 Hybrid.. the regular F150 3.5 also gets so close with 18/24/21 (400/500lbft)
I'm a big Toyota guy so it pains me to say it, but do some research on the new hybrid engine in the trucks... it has some pretty major growing pains right now, hopefully they iron it out but I wouldn't buy a '24 if I were shopping.

honestly if i were to buy a truck it would be an f150. Taco's nice and all, but god damn does the f150 just tick every single box.
Haven't Toyota trucks always sucked balls with gas mileage? The Tacoma sucks, the last gen Tundra was horrible, the new ones aren't super plus they don't sound very reliable yet.
^Earlier this year Ford stopped production on the F150 Lightening due to battery packs overheating...Not too sure what happened with them after that. Interesting fact.. the company that manufactures Fords battery packs is the same company that manufactures Hyundai/Kia battery packs.

+1. I've done a ton of research on the new Tundras and I wouldn't touch it.....yet.
My '10 has only needed regular maintenance and while the fuel economy is terrible, it gets the job done, reliably.

Yeah trucks used to be a bargain but they've gone Hollywood now, too popular and forced to buy them with too many features that you don't want.
One of my grouchy old coworkers drives around in a late '90s bare-bones 5-spd Tacoma he bought new like 25 years ago. He just uses it to get around town, and has never done anything remotely truck-stuff.
I asked him why he bought a truck, then. He shrugged and said it was the cheapest thing he could find on the lot. I looked it up and was mind-blown to find out that a base '97 Tacoma was cheaper than a base Corolla of the same vintage.

Times have changed.
Mind blown, I had to look it up, $45 difference in starting MSRP
didnt' quite build up the reputation that they wouldnt die and hold their values like mad both of which are often the justifications on spending a pretty penny for a new modern one

2nd case of an Ioniq 5 being written off, this time in eastern Canada.
Owner of the car ran over a piece of exhaust, scratched the battery cover and the case had a dent.
EDIT: it's a repost from a couple of posts above me
